ImportRacer2123 09-07-2005 06:07 PM

well i need a new serpentine belt because the one i got works for AC and PS and i only have some of the parts for the p/s nothing for ac. so i need a 51" belt. don't know where to order it from though... then i need the bolt that holds my crank angle sensor in... its on back order from hondaautomotiveparts.com. i also have to weld my front radiator support and put the radiator back in.

JesterMasque 09-07-2005 06:13 PM

Question: Why did you go with the a3? Why not the a2? Isn't the a2 the Type-S motor? Also, is there any trouble with the motor fitting in the bay since the intake manifold is so close to the front end?

Blahman240 09-07-2005 06:19 PM

I thought a2 was the Si motor.

Caucasian.Asian 09-07-2005 06:20 PM

congrats!

I found a k20a3 for $900 bucks in Stanwood, WA. yeah you need to hack away at your radiator support to fit the intake manifold in. you just have to reweld it. not too hard. I plan to get either RAzz Cams and K-pro or Save and swap a Type R head on it. with a 6 speed tranny.

Wow! Sweet deal!

But when I do mine I'm just gonna look for all of the stock components of a Type-S and just do a total under-the-hood swap, tranny and everything all at once.

stinger 09-07-2005 07:37 PM

thats really nice man. great deal. im happy for ya.

sitinduk 09-07-2005 09:44 PM

Looking good. Did u drop the motor in from the top or lift it from the bottom?
Also, how hard was it to install your clutch/brake pedals for the swap, alot of drilling?

mugenman 09-07-2005 09:53 PM

sweet swap man. hats off to you

I dropped the motor in from the top. it was really easy with a engine hoist. The clutch and brake pedal swap was kinda a bitch because of the location and postion of them. once i got the old brake pedal off it was easy to install the new one. The clutch master cylinder installment was a bitch but thank god that was done when there was nothing in my engine bay. With the EX model there was no firewall drilling needed it was already pre-drilled for the clutch pedal just had to make the cut for the clutch master cylinder and put it in there.

joshb_ 09-07-2005 10:17 PM

ImportRacer2123 09-07-2005 10:22 PM

I can make my car anything I want... I know there was no Coupes in Japan. So I decided to make my car how I would want it in Japan. So shoot me.

Zeppelin8778 09-07-2005 10:35 PM

yea newb question.. why cant a coupe be JDM? do they just not made 2 doors in japan? cuz thats really stupid IMO, coupe>sedan if you ask me. AWESOME motor bro, im really feelin it, nice deal, 900 bucks is sweet, which it were mine.

aznboysrfr 09-08-2005 01:50 AM

eh ... $1800 is waaaaaay too much for a k20a2 tranny .. you can get a k20a tranny for that much.

hmm ... oem ep3 belt works just fine on my car ... ;P

EM2typeflex 09-08-2005 03:22 AM

Eh the $1800 was the total money Ive spent on the ENTIRE swap including Motor, Tranny, ECU, SI Axles, SI Radiator w/ fans and shrouds subframe, hasport mounts, AEM CAI, DC Sports Race header, Hondata IMG, Auto to manual swap clutch pedal, brake pedal, Master cylinder, hard line softline, slave master cylinder, Manual Cluster, Intake Manifold, Throttlebody. I think I havn't spent that much money as it would cost others.
