Subless System Project on 2004 Sedan Finished (Before & After pics)

Hey guys I decided to do a subless system on my '04 Sedan. I'll change all factory speakers with aftermarket ones and feed them with amp power. I bought 4 JL XR's speakers and a 4ch Pioneer Amplifier. Its still a work in progress but I'm already lovin' it. Today I finished mounting my amp and all 4 crossovers on my backseat. Yeah I decided to mount them on the backseat because its the best and safest place in the trunk and plus I saved a lot of space. Next week my aim is to finish installing all 4 speakers and finish up the wiring. I'm excited for it to be all done :)

Here are some pics for you guys to see. I am planning on making a DIY on Amp mounting, install and aftermarket deck & speaker install all together. Hopefully it will help a lot of you who wants to upgrade your stock system. :)

nice, looks clean..

civvic2k1 08-28-2005 08:32 AM

Looks good. One question, are you going to leave some slack in the wireing so if you have to fold down the back seat you wont yank all the wires out?

not bad, not bad at all! :D

looks good man

Looks good, but i would say to at least get a 10" sub for it all. Stock speakers and radios are meant to give out low mid and high in the stereo. When replacing all them and using crossovers for the stereo it will elimanate the low end of the stereo, your stereo has all mid and highs. To really complete it you should think about buying a sub. Just my IMO.

I love the XR series, great choice, install looks like its coming along nicely.

I know what you mean man but for right now i'll stay subless. My budget is slim so I can't afford to add a sub to it yet. Maybe in the future when the budget is good I might change my mind and get one. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yes I have to leave a lil bit of slack to it so if ever I need to fold down the backseat the wires won't be yanked out. But I never really fold down my seats.

Great install looks awesome! Nice and clean..not all nasty with wires and such!

Pitch_BlacK 09-08-2005 07:49 PM

I finally finished wiring all my amp and speakers. Its not as clean looking as the others because of the wires but I tried. Here is the Before and After pics :)

its to late to do this but since u mounted everything on the back of the seat i and had torn the backing off i would have just waited till i had ran my wirers and then just cut a slit in the backing and ran them throug ther to try and make it look cleaner but u already have everything hooked up and it would be a pain in the ass to rewire everthing

MYK1013 09-08-2005 11:15 PM

what kind of speakers are you running??

Omnicef 09-09-2005 12:06 AM

Did you think about running the wires inside the seat? I saw you had it disassembled in an earlier pic. That would put it over the top!

genexrocket 09-09-2005 12:35 AM

still looks pretty clean with the wires

I know its too late and yes wiring is the most difficult but I'm very satisfied with final presentation. You can't see any wires inside the car I put them all in a wiring tube and run them under the door panels. Thanks for the suggestion

I got 4 XR series coaxials and they sound awesome. I can hear the highs and mids very clear especially when I'm listening to jazz. :)

damn, i wish i had the patience to do a clean install. i just have my 6 channel sitting in the middle of the trunk, with wires all over the place going to it
