jttegx 07-27-2005 04:18 PM

greekqt 07-27-2005 04:45 PM

It must be the time of year for accidents cuz last friday my car hydroplaned across the highway into a concrete median. Now im just waiting to find out if it is totalled, but luckily no one was hurt.

CiViCPrAnInG2k1 07-27-2005 04:58 PM

just be happy nobody got hurt... car/rims/tires can be replaced, you can't replace your health. so just be happy u aight.

KnocturnalEM2 07-27-2005 05:10 PM

Ouch!! Glad to see that everyone is ok! What happened??

prccivic 07-27-2005 05:43 PM

soooo....we are waiting for the story!

eklipz 07-27-2005 05:49 PM

this is kind of off topic, but your headlights look really dark... Did you paint the inside of the light as well??

Wolfgang5884 07-27-2005 05:52 PM

Damn, thats horrible. Good thing there were no injuries.

Black03civic 07-27-2005 05:58 PM

glad your okay

ojay 07-27-2005 07:31 PM

well here's what happened

it was rainy and muddy out at about 12:30am last night. i'm on my way home southbound, and i had a green light at this one intersection the whole time so i expected to cruise on through. some jackass car facing northbound, trying to make a left to go west, had a flashing red light so he decided to go. the jackass crossed my path and i'm about to hit him, so i slam on my brakes. i BARELY miss him as he flew by in front of me, but my car was hydroplaning to the right as i get into the intersection. i ended up smacking over the curb hard on my driver side, sliding across the sidewalk, sideswiping a plastic pole, and onto the grass, about 10 feet away from the buildling and about a foot away from a tree.

now i'm sitting there just chilling in my car which is on the sidewalk, and i get out to check damages. i decided to get off the sidewalk and pull into the closest lot, which i waited 2 hours for a tow to come.

the car that i almost hit didn't even stop or come back. i should've just hit him, it would of been his fault the jackass...

cliff notes: just look at these pictures

old wheels on

def01tones 07-27-2005 07:39 PM

damn that sucks!! what u gonna do bout rims?

sweeteli99 07-27-2005 07:48 PM

you might've bent one of the control arms, or something there, a simple alignment won't fix that (i don't think) you'll have to get a body shop to straighten that out.

that sucks, you should've hit him, but i guess when you are a in a situation like that your life (ie. swerve to avoid hitting a car head on, which will risk broken bones, etc.) is a bit more important than a couple of scrapes on your car...

glad you are ok, and it could've been worse. yep, it sucks that the other driver didn't stop, a reminder of what kind of world we live in, thankfully not everyone is like that.

good luck with everything, get your car fixed...

dirtySAMURAI 07-27-2005 07:49 PM

i hope those were rotas...

yeah they were rotas  . but they were MY rotas :(. a grand invested in wheels/tires for not even 2 months use just kills me.

but wouldnt it have sucked if it were 2 grand for volks?

and besides, the car and anything on the car is replaceable. your life is not.

YUL 07-27-2005 08:41 PM

how fast were you driving?

Nameless 07-28-2005 12:59 AM

glad you are alright.. some people just dont know how to drive :(

SavoroaX 07-28-2005 01:41 AM

did you call cops or anything?..

jfan 07-28-2005 01:57 AM

That guy is something else to just fly by and not care about the potential for somebody to get seriously injured.

MYK1013 07-28-2005 02:09 AM

Hope everything works out well for you.
BTW, what size were those Rota's??

ojay 07-28-2005 02:26 AM

oh man, if they were true volks i'd probably go into mute depression . yeah i'm okay and all, just really sucks that i couldn't enjoy my new rims for 2 months while i was saving up for a drop. wonder how it would of looked...

i was going 40-45, speed limit is 45 on that street.

i did call the cops, he made me write a report and that's about it. gave me a report # to give to insurance. i plan to do an insurance claim if my alignment can't get back into spec, i will find out tomorrow for sure.

the rotas are 16x7, bronze with a polished lip ;)

mkymonkey 07-28-2005 02:31 AM

wow.....i had something similar happen to me in my oldschool 89 prelude. some guy hit me on the drivers side, i spun like three times, he ran off left his pickup there and left me for dead. paramedics come and take me to the hospital.

end result:
lazerated ( <--spell check) kidney
internal bleeding because of kidney
26 fractures in pelvis
probability of not walking for 6 to 12 months.
no sex for a year (according to the doctor, the girations would have caused my pelvis to open up more)

well now im fine i can walk, have sex and pee. lol but people are stupid. the guy that was driving the truck was not found and his truck had not been registered for 3 years. this happened in 03. oh and of course my prelude was totaled, the motor actually was halfway on top of the car because of the hit. he was going about 60-75 in a 25

glad youre ok, and this just is an opportunity to UPGRADE.

MYK1013 07-28-2005 02:33 AM

For a second, I thought they were 17's. I know this doesn't concern your thread but I've been looking for those Rota Grids in 17 ". I got tired of looking so I ended up with the Subzero's.
