Service Denied by Honda

So I have been on this site for a while now, and it has been great finding information about our cars. Some of you may not know but I have a 2001 Civic EX and I have been having a few problems with it. Well, to make a long story short, since my car was the first year of the new body style, it has been blessed with a rocking driver side seat. At first I thought nothing of it but now it is starting to get worse. I took it down to Honda today and asked if there was any recall on it. They said no and said it would cost 65 bucks just to look at it. I said forget it and I left. My questions to you all are, a)do any other 2001 owners have the same problem and b)is the seat rocking easily fixable?

Thanks for the help all, I really appreciate it!

yeah there is a warrany fix for the problem....at least there is here in Canada

All they do is install a bushing...and the rocking stops...

rep please;)

give me your e-mail and I will try and find the TSB on it. Take that to the dealer and DEMAND they fix it for free with paper in hand. Don't stand for that crap.

I would drive it thru front show room window then demand it!...I just hate dealers they all seem like scams no matter where you go! Good luck with it hope they fix for ya!

Wise guy, eh? Rub it in, why don't you. I'd damn near PAY to see the look on some Honda drone's face if you bring your car in for service.

Day_Tripper 06-11-2005 08:10 PM

I had to take my 03 in for that a couple months after I got it... they told me there was a recall for it... your dealer is trying to screw you over

HondaLuver 06-11-2005 09:19 PM

wait, if there's a tsb for something they have to fix it?

gearbox 06-12-2005 09:05 PM

yup. as long as the car is under warranty, otherwise the dealer decides if they will charge or not. Some do some don't.

20civic01 06-13-2005 03:00 AM

oh...yeah, my car is way over warranty...lol
