D17 Crank Bolt

Hey guys Help please... I can't get the crank bolt of my balancer so I can install my underdrive. I've tried both of my impact guns up to 700 ft lbs of working torque. The crank spins counterclockwise so I tried turning the bolt clockwise, It won't budge. HELP!! :hithead:

impact will work fine but if you had one you probably wouldnt be asking how to remove it. gotta find some way to put pressure against it to stop it from moving. i dont have any suggestions because i have access to air tools like the cool people hah

I tried my 3/4" drive max torque of 850 ft lbs. that didn;'t do a thing. Sorry for the wrong forum. I was just looking for some helpful hints but all i found were some smartasses. Thanks neway

if you're using 850 ft lbs on it and your trying to keep the pulley from turning... when you figure out how to keep it from turning... good luck on replacing your crank shaft.

Here is how i did it.
Take your starter off, and put a pry bar on the fly wheel so it cant move.
Get a breaker bar with the 19mm socket and a long ass pipe that can go on the end of the breaker bar. Tug with all your might, my freind acutally put the bar on his shoulder and just stood up and it broke free.

first of all... The fly wheel isn't on that side of the engine, its not even visible.... Second, there is much easier ways to do it then removing shit. I think you got things confused.... Are you thinking he's removing the flywheel? Or the crank pulley? Because the are two different things.

your retarded.........the crank is connected to the fly wheel and the crank pulley. how bout you learn about a engine before you try to bust on me. If the crank wasent connected to the fly wheel then how the hell would the starter start the car buddy?
