Lol yeah, I put mine back and its quiet and not a drop slower, I think the reason it seamed faster to switch the other way was just a placebo from the extra noise.

My buddys civic and mine pull the exact same off the line (like a couple of toyota echos) but his car feels way faster to be in cause his loud ass exaust and his intake.

04civicdx 05-09-2005 07:06 PM

i just put my stock intake on a today

Rennen 05-09-2005 07:19 PM

i had to put mine back on....

Echelon04 05-09-2005 07:57 PM

I think it pulls harder with stock rather than after market....Maybe its just me. The SRI seemed to lag in the lower rpms.

Al Gore FTW 05-09-2005 08:26 PM

i just put mine back on a while ago, after my ebay intake's filter was dirty and i was going on a 3k mile road trip. it feels like it pulls harder, but im still buying an aem cai from a member on here.

cdmx 05-09-2005 09:03 PM

someone mustve said it allready...drop in K&N

CuRiOuSfIsH 05-09-2005 10:02 PM

i put in my stock airbox and res last year when my V2 broke.... and hated it!

diskreet 05-09-2005 10:08 PM

Im considering an AEM SRI solely for the nicer sound. I hate the stock whine of the engine at higher rpms and would like some dignity back. im probably going to grab one off a member here and paint it black with high temp paint cause i hate flashy pipes.

Kizuel 05-09-2005 10:23 PM

The gain/loss is so insignificant there's no reason not to put a SRI or CAI in. It's not like our cars pull hard anyways, and it sounds so much better.

Only real deciding factor: price

ncirom2003 05-09-2005 10:31 PM

ive been contemplating getting a cai or leaving stock, i dont want a sri..........
the only problem is i have a 1 piece spoon strut bar that is worht more to me than putting in a intake cus id have to remove it, so im not sure if i should stay stock or try and put half of a cai onto the box on the throttle body, or maybe just buy a new strut bar and the whole k&n cai........ im lost on it all but im getting an rsr exhaust and want a subtle tone like you hear from a g35 or something stock so i figure stock intake will help me get that

i keep mines in only becuase i got it free. otherwise i would have never spend the money for a filter on a pipe. lol

My v2 broke also! And I did that same! But then I got an intake from ebay for 30 bucks! DO IT! CAI! Its awesome. I think the ebay member was bombeffect. Honestly the product is quality.

I couldn't deal with the stock intake being installed again.. It felt soo slow.

Blahman240 05-09-2005 10:39 PM

But now that I think of it... That may only be because I forgot to put the IAT sensor back into the intake.

mykungfuisthebest 05-09-2005 11:05 PM

a heat sheilded short ram (ie k&n or custom heat sheild) is way better than that horrid stock labyrenth of noise canceling restricted airflow that is the stock airbox(s). the engine breathes so much more free, regardles of not gaining hp, you can definatly tell its quicker to rev and probly gives you 1 or 2 hp/mpg so why not. the full CAI lose low end on all applications ive seen, i wouldnt run one, + i live in florida and would swamp it in a week.

2K1Civic17"Gabe 05-10-2005 01:23 PM

I did before my turbo, I tried a couple intakes, and the airbox was probably faster than most. But my intake now is fine. but thats cuz it goes to the turbo inlet. lol.

cheukkin 05-10-2005 01:33 PM

Stuck on your stock box if you want to take off fast, people use aftermarket intake for the high rev and speed.

Tbag 05-10-2005 01:57 PM

Yeah...I put my stock back on. I had a Injen short ram. It sounded nice but after I put stock back on it felt a little quicker...most of all quiet. I may just start using it in the winter with the cold outside air...it seems to love cold air..Don't waist your money

booba5185 05-10-2005 02:08 PM

i want to put stock back on but i dont have the damn brackets or box or anything

cmeias 05-11-2005 01:02 AM

i have a cai on mine and put stock back on with a K&N filter and it feels better than the cai.

gearbox 06-18-2005 09:12 PM

stock is actually a great intake. i've been through aem sri and K&N fipk and went back to stock each time. But now I'm keeping the K&N typhoon because it makes more torque than stock on average and isn't noisy until after 4k or if you stomp on it.

flqu05 06-18-2005 09:41 PM

yes but the top end sucked...so i compromised. great low, mid and high end performance.

gearbox 06-18-2005 09:45 PM

what did you wrap the pipe in, and where does the tube on the end go? bumper?

flqu05 06-19-2005 11:10 AM

metal foil on the outside tape, 1/8 inch thick foam with adhesive. Wrapped it then wrapped over it ith black tape. The hose ebnd is where the factory location was.

bOoStEd042dr 06-19-2005 11:30 AM

Stock is way better and there's almost no chance of sucking up water!
