If it rains I'm gonna die....New Pics!

I got sick of lookin at my 2k1 on steelies and winter tires while I'm waiting for my summers and Rota's to arrive so I borrowed some MR7's and 40 series Dunlops (and I would like to emphasize the DUN part) from Tekgnosis. Some of us are heading to Toronto for a team meet (3.5h drive) and I didn't want to run my winters....they'll burn off so fast this time of year.

Anyway - needless to say the wheels look nice but the tires are shall we say DONE..lol. I'm sure if it rains (not supposed to) I'm gonna wreck.

Have a look at the tires.....and then a couple of pics of the car I guess...lol.
Can you see the results of "Ghetto Camber" ? :giggle:

Don't mind the 3M tape on the car...I'm in the process of removing it...lol.

FALKEN 05-06-2005 11:47 PM

youll be fine...theres still some tread left

How long did it take for your tires to turn like this and how much did you drop your car front to back?

they're my friends...he ran them for a couple of years and did a lot of Auto X with them...hehe. he was dropped 1.75" - 2" on them and had some serious camber setup.

I'm 1.75"

i predict rain for tomorrow :) car looks good. I have mine so clean for a show tomorrow, I hope nothing happens.

well you sure are screwed, my brother got stuck once in heavy snow with the advan's that have a "w" tread kinda and he just couldnt control it at any speed at all. so youll be fxcked his were soft tread too so theyd have a better chance in the snow than other. but anyways props to you for letting people see why insane camber is stupid unless you need it for performance (not going around turns at 90) and i bet the fact the kid auto-xed is the only reason that the tread is even low on the other side too

Whoa.. crazy tires man... but speaking of slippage in the rain, my boyfriend's car had more tread on his tires and on a turn, slipped and jumped a curb... lots and lots of stuff had to be fixed... I think he was rollin on Nitto555s, and they were pretty worn, but there was still tread...
well.. be careful out there (if it rains)!!
:)

Depends on how much camber you have.

Blahman240 05-07-2005 11:06 AM

looks like my old tires.. same wheels.

paradoxblue 05-07-2005 07:55 PM

well.. if u wanna try drifting.. replace the fronts and have at it :)

shouldnt have much trouble getting that ass to swing lol

and the thing witht hose is.. the whole tire would probably be bald if it wasnt for the camber issue.. :) just the way they were drivent hat did that mainly.. not only the camber

Shifty 05-07-2005 08:54 PM

you survived!!!! It was nice meeting you man. Hope you had a nice drive home

Berg_Tomaru 05-08-2005 01:39 PM

no... camber kills soft composite tires. Its not always the way you drive it.

eye_see_you 05-08-2005 03:08 PM

I did that on my 17 " wheels without having my alignment done you will be ok as long as you don't get into it to much

2k2civic 05-08-2005 04:05 PM

Before I got new tires two weeks ago, I was driving on tires with less than that (in the front), I was actually down to the fibers and stuff past the rubber (inly in a few spots though). But ya, rain was fun times with those tires.
