Another turbo'd vic soon to be gone!

So, I want a new car that has some potential. lol. I love the turbo on my ride, but I would rather a factory turbocharged, supercharged, or fast car stock. 160-170tq stock Is the least I would like. That would be a good starting point, but slower than my ride right now Id believe. No numbers on my car, but it was tuned. it was a crazy day when I got tuned so no numbers.

Here are some things I am looking at right now. I would like to spend 20-25000. Preferably 20. Any opinions, other cars to look at, anything, let me know. It also has to be 4doors, no more getting kids in the back by lifting mine up, that gets annoying, especially doing carseats like that. I would get a low mileage certified used car probably.

Mazda 3 SP23 (150lb ft)

Passat v6 (206lb ft) or 1.8T(170hp) - 23,360 base msrp

lol^ well, you know what it looks like hopefully.
Need I explain this one, lol

Or this

Audi A4 - I would get the lower model. I believe 2.0T (200hp)

This is a slight possibility, but would be one of my last choices.

Any other recommendations.

Peace

srt 4 - 20k ~225 whp and a factory turbo

2K1Civic17"Gabe 04-27-2005 03:44 PM

I just dont like the look of the neon too much. Its not as bad as a regular one, I think the vic looks more sexy than the srt-4. A test drive would probably change my mind though, lol. It will be on my list for test drives.

dirtySAMURAI 04-27-2005 03:45 PM

a4. love the stock handling of the b6 (previous gen)

2K1Civic17"Gabe 04-27-2005 03:47 PM

I love the a4. Thats one of my dream cars (even though its a cheaper car). They are a little expensive though, but sooooo nice. You can make em look so much sicker too. I hear they arent reliable? A used one would be a bad choice, huh?

dirtySAMURAI 04-27-2005 03:50 PM

they aren't not reliable, they're just prone to failure early. volkswagen is probably the german equivalent to ford.

ragingSPAM 04-27-2005 03:51 PM

STi and the evo are gonna run u a good 30k +....and the audi 1.8t not 2.0 is gonna run u about the same 27-30k...i would suggest a regular WRX (about 20k 227hp), rsx-s (about 22-23k 200hp), Scion TC Supercharged (21-22k 200+ hp)

Skunk2ner 04-27-2005 03:51 PM

you can pick up a used STi for around $25k. 300 horsepower owns you. AWD owns you too. subaru reliability owns you some more.

yes indeed

2K1Civic17"Gabe 04-27-2005 04:05 PM

haha, reliability sucks with these cars. I wish they were all made like hondas to last.

2k1civic01 04-27-2005 04:27 PM

what a TSX?....those are nice tooo

Spider883 04-27-2005 04:28 PM

sti or a4 says i

zachgeyer 04-27-2005 04:37 PM

evo!!!

drunkenmagnum 04-27-2005 04:49 PM

how about a 86 mustang svo (turbo i-4) , buick grand national, omni glhs, gmc typhone, gmc cyclone, eagle talon tsi, umm maybe a 90 turbo t-bird. just a few suggestions- they all have turbos and are domestics.

I'm assuming he needs it for transportation, not just track days. An '86 mustang turbo might be a neat car, but not something I want to rely on to get me to work every day.

Vantage 04-27-2005 04:58 PM

i love the TSX, but i would think its a little high. If u want power, get the STR-4, ive riden in 1 that was bone stock, the thing was quick. get the Mopar stage 2 kit, and ull be flying. i hate domestics but if i could buy a brand new car right now, id buy it in a heartbeat.

ORRRR do the smart thing and look for a used S4....

2K1Civic17"Gabe 04-27-2005 05:02 PM

yeah, newer cars, good gas mileage. I would like good gas mileage, but uhhh I dont think that will happen w/a faster car. I do like domestic cars though, I am not biased.

for pricing, I am thinking srt-4 (I could live with a neon for a year or two), but would rather an EVO. there is one for sale thats used at a dealership down the street. My friend's (who died on a motorcycle) parents own the place. Hacienda Harley Davidson. I wonder if they would hook me up. They hooked up their son with a 35000 dollar harley (which Im sure they will never get over). it sucks. very sad.

would a new jetta 1.8t be very reliable for a couple years tops? What type of power do they have? Like 160-170 hp?

wouldnt a used s4 be unreliable? I need reliability out of my next car, I dont want to be in the garage everyday or morning like I am right now (thanks to my electronics). I need a new car basically, or one with VERY low mileage.

XxJDMCivicxX 04-27-2005 05:08 PM

Buy a GT stang cheapest bang for buck and nice looking for the price. Bolt-on power which is always good. Warranty is good :D.

The jetta 1.8t has 180hp stock and the gli has the same if not mistaken. But responds easily to mods. You will need to change your coilpack for the 1.8t probably but other than that they're nice cars and can be really quick for cheap , my friend has one hasn't had any big problems but lil things that annoy you and recalls he has to go in for every now and then.

Vantage 04-27-2005 05:09 PM

i should hope it would be realiable, people buying S4's are usually old business men who like to look cool, and maybe go for a nice quick drive to the office ever couple days. any used car is realiable ( as long as its not domestic haha) as long as it has been maintained good and not driven to hard. If ur buying used, get an inspection done, and do a carfax report. ive boughten 2 used cars, and both have been perfect. and u can get near new, with like 20,000 miles or so, just broken in, and save a couple thousand just because its used.

Id check into it, S4's are quiet possibly 1 of the coolest 4 doors around ( behind S6 S8 and the M5)

Also, people it says he wants a reliable 4 door.... how is a mustang reliable??? and how is it a 4 door??? christ, my girlfriend put about 6000 into her mustang in a year before she sold it for a civic...

terrible cars... terrible manufacturor(sp?)

devilvtec 04-27-2005 05:16 PM

Sentra Se-R Spec V, 175hp 180tq. Four doors. Nissans seem to have pretty good reliability, plus you can order some NISMO parts with the money you save :).

XxJDMCivicxX 04-27-2005 05:19 PM

Well personally if your gonna go for an s4 it isn't the best choice considering their still early in the generation and audi isn't really known for the reliability. Espically since the new ones are v8s. The older s4's tt ones had some reliability with their twin turbo's but as everyone knows they can be made fast for resonably cheap. I find the v8 is fun but the s4 tt was more enjoyable but that's just a personal opinion and used to drive them every other day when working at audi/volks/porsche.

The new IS300 isn't the nicest looking compared to the last generation but toyota's reliability is high up there if not the best.

sw388integra 04-27-2005 05:21 PM

best bang for your buck..i payed 23 for a 03..and with less than 1000 bucks, i have over 450hp!

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MXk1NDE%3D.jpg

2K1Civic17"Gabe 04-27-2005 05:21 PM

only starting at 46,820 for an s4, lol. ummmm, I cant afford one, even a used one will be too much Id believe.

Not too bad of a car, but 2 doors, and fitting 2 car seats in the back of a mustang, I dont think so. Id be driving with my chest against the steering wheel. if they only had 4 dr mustangs, that would be pimp. Id get a newer one, I am not too big on the old body style. the last 2 sucked, imo. the new ones are hot.

I had a 200sx that blew the motor on the freeway, driving normal. Had about 50,000 miles on it. It was a slow POS. I dont like nissans too much after that. I would get a 350z if I were to get a nissan. possibly a pathfinder

devilvtec 04-27-2005 05:26 PM

Hmm, what about a Mazda 6 instead of the 3?

gearbox 04-27-2005 05:28 PM

a4 or mazda3. stay away from evo and srt.

2K1Civic17"Gabe 04-27-2005 05:41 PM

a London Taxi would be sick, i would pimp this around, a i-4 turbocharged thing.
http://www.motor-cross.ca/taxi-jun03.jpg

if it wasnt 60,000, lol.

What does a mazda 6 run moneywise/powerwise?

I really like the mazda 3, I think its hot.

2K1Civic17"Gabe 04-27-2005 05:46 PM

possibly an impreza, they are very affordable
