removing Civic emblem?? hey everyone ive got an easy question. I know i cannot remove the [H] from the rear of my car without bondo/paint, because of the 2 pins in the rear of the [H], but i was wondering... im 60% sure that the civic symbol doesnt have any pins, and i was wondering how people out there took their symbol off? I used fishing line on my old CRX, but that was on glass. i was wondering if this would work on the paint? will it leave a gluey residue? if so how did u people manager to get this off? Thanks |
Search. But yes, I took mine off and it was fine. It was kind of hard because that sticky stuff was a pain in the ass to get off. But it's do-able, just takes a little time and patience. |
I pulled mine off on a hot sunny day just slowly vey slowly and then the glue came off with no problem... Just take a heat gun and just slowly peel it off |
You can do the same thing you did on your CRX. Thats what I did with mine, then all I did was spray the sticky crap with glass cleaner and rubbed it off. its really easy. ~M~ |

use a hair dryer, works best |
I used dental floss. |
The bill for this project is skyrocketing way to fast...... so far your gonna need: 1. a sunny or warm day 2. a hair dryer 3. some floss IMO.....I would save the money from this prodject and get an s2000........ |
i agree with hurts2bstock , im just gunna save up 30 grand or so... but the only problem is then.. how would i get the s2000 emblem off?????..... Thanks for fast replies everyone, gunna go give it a shot. |
hair dryer |
good old floss works the best! |
Hot, stanky, morning breath. |
ya the civic and the model emblems have double sided tape on them. Use a hair dryer to heat it up and then use dental floss to remove it by sliding it back and forth until it goes all the way through. That gets most of the double sided tape off. Then I used some 90% rubbing alcohol to get the rest off. Its cheaper than using the special remover that everyone says to use and works just as good. |

nice plug, i wont get them unless i have a k20, or a turbo... I had a custom decal on my CRX, twas pretty awesome, said Hybrid 1.8L but theres nothing really to show boat about with a stock 1.7L LX... |
lol or do as id id.. next time u have a presure washer on it to wash it.. aim cluse tot he glue it will blast off quickly and leave little to no gunk which can also be spratyed off.. u dont need hot day.. hair dryer.. blah i jsut did it when i washed my car |
or go buy a little bottle of Goo-Gone, under 3 bucks, pull the Civic badge off. then put some of that on a rag and rub it right off. did it to 2 civics now, mine and my friends 96 no problem. |
