i just got my bulk pack of dynamat extreme off ebay so i took of my trunk. wasnt hard at all taking off the trunk. hardest part was moving the trunk into my house, i scratched the corner on a wall. hopefully i could buff it out but its all good. sounds so much better. the rattle was definately reduced.

i dont really have problems with my trunk lid its the side walls of the trunk
and about how much did you use to cover the trunk lid

diskreet 03-27-2005 08:23 PM

I used 4 and 1/2 sheets :) 2 layers

booba5185 04-26-2005 09:11 PM

dynamat helps the sound in the car as well as the rattling, right?

dynamat will only help rattles in the sense it decreases the vibration in the surface its on. but in practice, everything still rattles, you gotta do other stuff for that!

booba5185 04-26-2005 09:26 PM

so sound deading my car wont help sound inside at all, i have always been taught different

diskreet 04-26-2005 09:32 PM

actually sound deadening makes your bass CLEARER and LOUDER. some stuff stops making noise but anyone who says dynamat removes rattles has never used it or just cant hear well

_Viper_ 04-26-2005 09:33 PM

I used dynamat on my butt hole...

thank you i thought so, nothing rattles on my car except that damn dust flap or whatever on the driver side of the trunk

skratch_munkey 04-26-2005 09:47 PM

They need to find a way to make dynamat look better.

booba5185 04-26-2005 10:01 PM

put it on and put carpet over it

does it vibrate less when you fart?

doing 2 layers doesnt do much more than 1...... but you should definately dynamat the inside of your rear quarters if you got the bulk pack

ciVictoria 04-26-2005 10:08 PM

I'm planning to dynamat my trunk all the way up to the back of my front seats. Its probably going to be three boxes. They also have a liquid deadner called Edeadv3.. You can check this out at:

http://www.edesignaudio.com/category...e=damp&cur=USD

You can use this on the trunk lid and then paint over it so it can match your car.

nice link but it doesn't say how many sqft it covers

^^^anyone know if it's ok to just cover that up?? it gets pretty annoying

ncirom2003 05-01-2005 05:06 PM

dust flap? you mean the vent that is down inside the trunk? if you cover it your car will most likely get mildewy and smelly

then how can we make it stop?! its the only thing that rattles from the outside at least. i just need weather stripping cause my rear deck is getting annoying with the rear windshield. otherwise im rattle free now.

ncirom2003 05-01-2005 10:41 PM

well there is the rubber flap that is most likely making the noise, just rip it off it wont really matter much. youll still be ventilated ( i wouldnt think its heavy enough material for you to hear it though even when your outside)
if it still rattles that vent snaps out really easy so just pop it out and put some caulking around the edges or dynamat or something
