Just bought a 2001 Civic LX need assistance.

This is probably the most economical car i've ever had, so i don't see the point of modding a 1.7L.

But i will mod the outside a bit, but need you guys to help out on where i can find these parts cheap used is ok as long as it works.

Projector Headlights

OEM kit

Rims what is the offset this car is safe with and im only going w/ 17's

Drop what do you guys think of eibach sportlines? where can i get them in stock?

eye_see_you 03-22-2005 07:17 AM

well this is what 18" and sportlines look like and i've been happy with them. I use to roll on 17's

Kadenx 03-22-2005 07:27 AM

stay away from arospeed or aerospeed, whatever it is

shadowsonic 03-22-2005 07:30 AM

How much wheel gap did you have on 17's? The only reason i want 17's is because of weight 18's i feel is to much for this car to carry.

Do i really need projectors is my other question, anyone here paint and clear lights?
Or have some for sale or trade?

eye_see_you 03-22-2005 07:52 AM

my 18's are less than my 17's were actually. It all depends on the wheels you select. As for projectors I have them and was only happy after I added true HID's otherwise stick to stock as I am puttin gmine back on. For paintingand clearing them chck the DIY section and you could do it yourself.

shadowsonic 03-22-2005 08:06 AM

LOL i rather not DIY cause i messed up hardcore on my WRX's lights.
What about offset for this car?

Jrfish007 03-22-2005 08:12 AM

I had 17's when I had a civic. Thing is if you go with 205/40/17, you will have the same tire diameter as stock, so wheel gap will be the same as stock rim and tire.

Civic's have a 35 mm offset. However 40mm fit my car fine.

Also, civics have a small hub, so be aware you may need a center ring for most aftermarket rims.

The rest, I'm not sure on. I looked at the areo kit from Honda for the '03 (which is the same as the '01) and didn't care for it much. The '04+ look good, but never got one.

Actually 205/40/17 are 4% smaller then stock. The wider tire you get, the bigger offset you'll need so you dont rub. I think anything 37+ should be fine, but that really depends on your drop and tire width you choose.

What do you guys recommend for a 17' gunmetal or black w/ silver lip?

Im looking for a kit thats ABS or Urethane no fiberglass.

jayvo2005 03-22-2005 08:20 AM

Also stay away from Dropzone. Piece of crap coilovers!!! Go with ground controls and KYB AGX shocks. Excellent ride!!!!

shadowsonic 03-22-2005 08:21 AM

I want springs no coilovers.

diskreet 03-22-2005 08:57 AM

I honestly recomment getting the 16" HFP wheels cause they are almost 17" but they are OEM so if you stay OEM headlights and go with oem lip kit then go with these:

Anyone know how hard the install is on these lights?

Also the lug nut set 4/100 or 4/114?

Jrfish007 03-22-2005 10:52 AM

5 speeds are less prone to failure

4/100

shadowsonic 03-22-2005 11:19 AM

Thank you :) mine is a 5spd anyhow what about the lights any issues would you recommend something else?

Jrfish007 03-22-2005 11:21 AM

Sorry, never played with the headlights other than putting some different bulbs in, but that won't help much.

y.0. KiLLa 03-22-2005 11:28 AM
