Blacking out (Head Lights) Update!!!!! Link at Bottom added Peeps

Heres is the deal..Ive got some points and Im going to make a sticky on 2004-2005 Blacking out headlights..

Youll all say yadayadayada theres already a sticky..Well the pics dont work for one and it never showed 04-05 lights..

I just got an extra pair  and ill be blacking my lights this week-end with a full DIY pics and all....

The only info I really need is your honest opinion on what would look the best in terms of paint..

I really want this to look like it came out of Honda Canada like that...I want to drop some lips and jaws to the ground...Hell ill even do them RED if youll think it will look awsome..

Anyways I know I have to get high heat paint but should it be flat or glossy???

I promise a great DIY with great Pics..
Whats the sense in having a DIY if the pics dont work ..its just wasted space to me and to all the others...
Remember its for 04-05 lights....

Blahman2 03-17-2005 08:57 AM

nice! do it! I don't think there is a sticky for 04-05 headlights!

MishBallzEM2 03-17-2005 09:05 AM

Nice.....Do glossy paint, that would look dope....

orion_squall 03-17-2005 09:08 AM

just build the DIY :)

mmm, definitely black mat.

In any black out headlights from any manufactuer, it is black mat.

teampointless 03-17-2005 09:14 AM

Matte black.

Caucasian.Asian 03-17-2005 09:15 AM

fat black, use the BBQ grill paint. it works the best.

PunkingCivic 03-17-2005 09:18 AM

Matte black.

_Viper_ 03-17-2005 09:35 AM

Flat black and i guess ill need some high temp primer also....eh???? (Canadian accent there)

Anything else that would be kool?? Maybe I can make a hole and add strobes so when im parked at a meet i could flick em on....
hehehehe

juzthewy 03-17-2005 09:39 AM

That would be a good look for this weekend bcuz i was hoping i could black out my 04 headlights this coming week. Ur the man

Caucasian.Asian 03-17-2005 09:40 AM

no primer is needed, at least i didn't use any. you might want to sand them down a little bit though. if you don't sand them the paint tends to run away from the sharp angles of the chrome peice.

_Viper_ 03-17-2005 09:45 AM

ok so 600 grit or 1000 grit???

Caucasian.Asian 03-17-2005 09:48 AM

i'm not sure, whatever grit that will leave the least amount of scratches.
you probably don't need a rough one though. the crome comes off REALLY easy. some of my chrome pulled off from just painters tape.

itskalvin 03-17-2005 10:42 AM

i would use glossy paint, thats what i used on mine

_Viper_ 03-17-2005 10:48 AM

pics??

Skunk2ner 03-17-2005 10:50 AM

on a silver car i'd go with a matte black or flat black. the BBQ paint works well. i didn't even sand or primer and they came out pretty damn nicely.

itskalvin 03-17-2005 11:00 AM

sorry viper theses are all the pics i cold find of my headlights

Beautiful beautiful beautiful....whered u get the cf hood? aah man... beautiful

diskreet 03-17-2005 01:19 PM

Glossy and same color as the car!!

Xenin 03-17-2005 01:53 PM

you dont need to sand anything. if you want the chrome off just use VIM to wash it off. you should use KRYLON paint, that sticks to anything.

JDMwhoreCivic 03-17-2005 03:03 PM

i was told to post pics...

Al Gore FTW 03-19-2005 02:57 PM

your car is hot!! :_bow: :hitit:

civicguy1xxxxx 03-19-2005 04:20 PM

Hey its kalvin, i like the headlights, and for the first time i really like the way that cf hood looks on your car. I think the cf look is RETARDED on any other car than a black or dark grey like that. It looks great on yours, but ill never understand the look of a red, white, blue or whatever other color car with a black hood. Looks more ghetto than anything else to me. Just my $.02

kornsined 03-19-2005 04:39 PM

blacked out is that shit!

xam 03-20-2005 04:08 AM
