Has anyone done a Rear Brake Converstion?

Has anyone done a Rear Brake Converstion from Drum to Disk? I have been thinking about doing this for a couple of months and have had trouble finding anyone who is willing to do it.

this has been done by alot of members. Just need several parts from an SI and you will be set. I am sure someone will post more in depth about it later. Otherwise I bet this thread will be locked cause there is so much info on it.

What I would love before this gets locked.. Is for someone to tell me if they have actually done this converstion and what they think about it.

_Viper_ 02-25-2005 10:09 PM

Inferno333 02-26-2005 12:46 PM

I'll get you back for that Viper...I'll get you good...Muahhahaha

CivicsRdBest 02-26-2005 07:33 PM

I've got ABS, so I don't know if there would be a difference. I mean, if you went racing and stuff then I guess it would be worth the mod, otherwise, I personally think the stock brakes work fine. Besides, most of the stopping is done on the front wheels anyway, so... yeah, unless you're racing, I don't know why you'd want to do it.

We are speaking about the Disk's compared to drums here right? 50% of the reason why I am looking to do this is looks, the other 50% would be better stopping power and such.

Come on people, there has to be someone out there that has done this and will give me insight to feel, looks, cost and hassle they went through to get it done.

yes for performance wise, disk > drum for sure.. . and i think disk looks hella better than drum too.
It shoudln't be that hard to buy the things that you need from the dealershop. They should sell all the rear disk part from 03 SI.

Yea.. I was talking to one guy about getting it done (that said no he wouldn't do it) and he was saying something about the ABS controller and not working with disk becuase its set for drums. :screwy: I gave him kinda weird sideways look and was like.. Yea ok.
