Anyone have pics of their type r kit

I want to get the type r lip kit but i would like to see side shots and quater shots....to give me an idea of how it would look...

Logan3024 02-20-2005 10:11 AM

Dude all these post you make in members rides and you havent even posted 1 pic of your car. If you can afford all those mods you should be able to afford a digital camera to take a couple pics. Whats the deal?

--- since when did people start using powercoating on their turbo manifolds :o ?

JDm7thGen 02-20-2005 10:26 AM

yeah my manifold is powdercoated black...all my piping is powder coated black....i have a digital camera...i cant get the cable to connect to my computer it just waont connect so i can transfer the images to my pc...i have plenty of pics...but i just have to return the camera for a new one...

What type of powder they use? The highest temp powder coating i know of only protects up to 800 degrees. A turbo manifold should be around 1200-1600 degrees.

JDm7thGen 02-20-2005 02:29 PM

h/o let me call my mechanic and ask him what kind of powder he used to powder coat the turbo manifold on my car.....does it matter it still looks the same as it did when he coated it a month ago....daily driven 10-14 psi...

JDm7thGen 02-20-2005 02:30 PM

and still looks clean enough to eat mac and cheese off of it

JDm7thGen 02-20-2005 02:31 PM

anyways can someone let me see a good side shot of a type r kit

I guess that explains how much you know, you dont even know what the **** it is! I bet he spray painted it with some High temp paint and told you he powdercoated it to make more money off you. Anybody whos has any kind of automotive experience would have made you Jet-Coat it or Creamic coat it, not powdercoat! :_doh:

JDm7thGen 02-20-2005 02:53 PM

im just sayin man i have no reason to lie to you about my car.....ill post pics as soon as possible....ask elitecivicex01...im not lying dude...i posted this thread just so i can get an idea about the type r kit and how it would look on the car...not to be flamed by you...chill out man...

JDm7thGen 02-20-2005 02:57 PM

ceramicoat is what he used i believe...something hi-temp...if you think my mechanic is bullshit ...well talk to 1siksivik, gusto(hector), my mechanic is barney(member), his car is so sick and hes a good guy, hes helped a lot of people out so dont flame people unless you know what you are talking about....

JDm7thGen 02-20-2005 03:00 PM

your just digging your self a bigger hole and making your self look like an ass, im not a painter, i know about my motor, he told me that he would make it look so clean it would look like it came from the dealership that way....and guess what he did....he made it look like it comes stock that way...nice and clean...Phil( Barney) is a cool guy and is badass at what he does....so take your comments elsewhere... :moon: :moon: :moon:

Is it powdercoated? ceramic coated? High temp painted? Make up your mind  !!!

isuzu5000 02-20-2005 03:09 PM

your making yourself look like an ass...posting every minute. quit whoring this thread dude. i see a 34 minute a 33 minute and a 32 minute post. just chill out dude.

anyways BACK TO THE TOPIC!! Anyone here w/ a type r lip?

JDm7thGen 02-20-2005 03:18 PM

man are you sure you know what your talking about.....lol....if your temp coming off the manifold was 1200 to 1600 degrees literally it would melt everything in your engine bay, your sensors ...everything that has platic or rubber...lol....the usual temp off my manifold is around 800 degrees and that is if i had been running it all day....and yes i just asked him and its a hi temp paint from a gun, if you use ceramicoat (especially on tubular manifolds) the heat will find a place to displace itself and cause flaking or cracking so therefore the best route to go was with the hi temp paint....and after a month on 10-14 psi it still looks perfect....learn some more before you talk some more

nickm748 02-20-2005 03:36 PM

stop whoring

JDm7thGen 02-20-2005 03:40 PM

lol....thats what im saying...i made this thread to see a picture of a type r kit on a vic not an ******* trying to talk about pointless bs...thx isuzu for the reply

Thank you. You proved my point. Its not powdercoated. :)

JDm7thGen 02-20-2005 03:56 PM

my piping is powdercoated, but the turbo manifold is painted with a high-temp paint and then powdercoated over to create a exact match in color to everthing else in my engine bay... and you still were incorrect now you should just stop talking about pointless :-bs: and find another thread to look like an ass in...now lets get back to the topic....
