woot new rims

I bought new summer rims. 17" motegi 6-spoke split design. The kumho ecsta supras are coming off and being replaced with Kumho Ecsta MX's. i'll probably put the rims on sometime in april when winter is over.

niceness

skipbarber 01-28-2005 05:51 PM

:\ thats some pretty nasty curbage there..but good taste in color :)

S2000man01 01-28-2005 06:17 PM

yeah that was the one damaged rim. actually it was re-done in the gunmetal color. the flash from my camera is the only reason you can see it.

but if you were to even be looking at the rim in normal light, you'd have to look hard to see it.

not bad for $200 though. :)

skipbarber 01-28-2005 06:24 PM

shit...for 200 I wouldve bought them, and i dont own anything with a 5 lug pattern. lol

XTREME2K2CIVIC 01-28-2005 06:43 PM

IMO, Motegi on an S2000 should never be allowed.

the price is great i do admit but they aren't my taste. they are better than rolling on steelies though.

rijowysock 01-28-2005 11:04 PM

we say this because s2000 is considered a nice car in my eye and nothing short of A NICE WHEEL. should go on it..

get staggered SSR comps... or Hart wheels, volks, maya, maido, zauber, something fancy... those wheels honestly make the car look cheaper prolly than the oem's..

just because i feel bad for you.. sell those for 200 take the $ u were gon spend on shitty khumo's PM me and ill give you some volks at cost.. just to make the car nice shi.t.. run like 17x8 front w/ 17x9 rear..

AdamOSU 01-28-2005 11:18 PM

I'd probably just stick with the stock rims over those. I'm sure you can get your money out of them or even make a small profit.

civicvtec1ps 01-29-2005 01:25 AM

Stock Wheels.,

gearbox 01-29-2005 01:39 AM

sorry but stock rims are better. Maybe if they had a polished lip, but imo those just won't look good.

S2000man01 01-29-2005 09:27 AM

well i've seen them on the car and they look much better than the stock rims IMO. keep in mind my car is red, and the gunmetal color alone matches much better. i know sh*t about rims, but to me, if it looks nice, i'll take it. i could give a sh*t if someone thinks motegis are crap, because they look good on my red car.

and i'm not going to sell them again and get something else. i had never even planned on getting rims, but this was something that looked decent on mycar, and helps me out because i can leave the winter tires on the OEM rims, and the summer tires on the summer rims.

as for 'shitty' kumhos, the kumho ecsta MX's are actually very good tires. superior to many tires out there for daily spirited driving, and are almost as good on dry as the S-02's.

Logan3024 01-29-2005 09:54 AM

powder coat those bad boys gloss black! I agree montegis and s2000 doesnt mix well.

civic21 01-29-2005 10:48 AM

nice not bad for 200 i'd of bought them

i bought them for the look, not the brand. like i said, they look very good on my red car. much more agressive looking than the stock rims.

mogwai 01-29-2005 12:06 PM

I understand what everyone is saying about Motegi not mixing well with an S2000, but I also understand your viewpoint. Afterall, it's your money and to your likings.

I personally think the rims look good. Just throw on some new tires and you're set.

XTREME2K2CIVIC 01-29-2005 01:04 PM

DONT DO IT.... You've got an awesome car man dont ruin it with some POS rims... I dare you to go and post on the S2000 forums that your gonna put these rims on it and see if you dont get flamed.....

i already did.

none of them flamed me for it in any way. several other S2000 owners have motegis as well. again, same reason. they really dont care if they dont cost $2,000. they just wanted something that looked decent. in fact, i bought these FROM another S2k owner and member of s2ki
