$1200

okay, i got a $2000 loan for coilovers and lambo doors, the lambo doors keep getting messed up.. company won't send, wait 3-4 months, etc. so i give up.. i have $1200 left.. any opinions on what to use it for? :)

reytito 06-30-2004 12:01 PM

turbo parts man. you can come pretty close to getting all the parts you need.

jwalker87 06-30-2004 12:36 PM

go n/a man. For 1200 you can get a KMS p&p, titanium retainers and racing valve springs. Could add up to 40% hp if you tune it right. That would be about the same as the standard SF turbo kit for a lot cheaper.

reytito 06-30-2004 12:43 PM

or that ^^^

Quijano187 06-30-2004 01:10 PM

go all motor!!!!!!!!! please i wanna see results

civicvtec1ps 06-30-2004 01:13 PM

XxSoVeReiGNxX 06-30-2004 02:23 PM

power windows, power doorlocks, alarm, bodymatched doorhandles trunktrim sideviewmirrors. Not really defining or major mods, but they do make the car more appealing. they shouldn't cost more than $400 all together.

1200's NOT enough for a turbo kit, and if you find someone trying to sell a kit for $1200 (used or not), get ready to lose your money :-bs:

HondaSales 06-30-2004 02:30 PM

use the 1200 to pay back the loan

no said anything about a kit. make it yourself. peice it together yourself. do some research yourself and you might find out the truth instead of hearsay. i helped a friend boost 2 civic. under $800 in parts and installed ourselves. with our fuel system, we're looking at some extra money. got it? get it? good. :2pimp:

Cocky 06-30-2004 04:56 PM

i'm thinking internals, that way when i boost, i can push it harder.. i'm waiting for the Dezod kit before i turbo. i'm spending $400 on a good radar detector, how i drive.. i have to have it. so with the other $800 how much out of the KMS p&p, titanium retainers and racing valve springs can i get? what about torque converter? what, as far as internals can i upgrade for $800 or so.. plus or minus a little, and what out of those parts will make the biggest difference in accleration? i'm almost 100% sure going for internals though..

INCivic 06-30-2004 04:59 PM

you're crazy if you spend that much on a radar detector!! i spent 140 and i have NEVER gotten a ticket. use the other 260 on something else

civic01vtec 06-30-2004 05:05 PM

put it in the bank

Cocky 06-30-2004 05:06 PM

who needs money in the bank when you have a Civic? lol.

It's called luck and just because you have radar detector doesn't mean you aint going to get caught. But a 400 dollar one like valentine one is going to be much better and give you a higher percentage chance of not getting caught in speed traps than any other 100-200 dollar range detectors. Don't even try to compare. Also for Cocky, I hope you are getting a loan from someone you know interest free because it'll be a waste to get one from the bank with interest.

cdmx 06-30-2004 05:27 PM

I think you best bet is to find a local shop to do all your stuff....find out who's a the mechanic to see. And pay him a visit

Know what you just made me think of something, if I get A's in all my classes this semester. I can get 2,000 from my job for tuition assistance. Its a supermarket...they have pretty good benefits

yup i wasn't bashing on what anyone said. I was just giving a warning

I'm saying, if you ever see a turbo kit $1200, you're going to get scammed. A member on the boards jumped to quick on a $1000 SF turbo offer, and his money = :flush: Sent the money, but he never got the turbo; basically he was robbed.

Cocky 06-30-2004 05:38 PM

like i said, as far as turbo.. i'm waiting on Dezod. i just wanna see what i can get done as far as internals.. if i can't get much, i'll do something else.

civic01vtec 06-30-2004 05:48 PM

put it this way.........C2i0v0i1C has JE pistons, custom built turbo, e-manage, and labor..........he has $10,000,

Whenever you do motor builds and turbo, u are gonna pay for tuning and labor.

lewal 06-30-2004 06:09 PM

Put it back towards the loan.

sCoTtEh 06-30-2004 06:09 PM

get some hookers

Cocky 06-30-2004 07:12 PM

i think i'll maybe get lambos from Saminari.. if not.. probably leather seats or an indash dvd.. intake.. i duno.. lol. no putting it towards the loan though.. that's what about $900 of my check is going towards friday. can't spend it all on paying the bank back.

reytito 06-30-2004 08:52 PM

you should be able to get PnP job done with 800.

allmotor 06-30-2004 08:56 PM

yeah valentines hella work my friend had one and he said it saved his ass numerous times

Cocky 06-30-2004 10:00 PM

bought the lambo kit. $802. i kept it close. i'll just start saving for the Dezod kit, maybe a PnP before that, i duno. :)

jwalker87 07-01-2004 02:10 AM

can you give a link for the radar detector? Im planning on a Passport 8500, which seems to be REALLY nice, and retails for $300.

navyedoc 07-01-2004 02:36 AM

$1200

um i did not write that. if it were me i would have said...... save some cash any buy yourself a turbo kit. whoever the f@#$ wrote that shit on my screen name, watch out    :argue:

Cocky 07-01-2004 06:01 AM
