coilover drop?????

probably get flamed for this, but here goes>>>>

I have a 01 civic ex coupe, I put on 215/40/17 tires and purchased a 2001 dropzone coilover set. I guess no one likes dropzone coilovers, but hey, I'm on a tight budget and they were won for $50.00 brand new in the box on ebay. I will be using them with the stock struts until later on down the road. I don't drive crazy and just want the clean look of a drop. Anyway, what is the safest height I can drop (front and rear) that will still look good. By safest, I mean no rub against the fender wall going in a fast turn or by hitting a big bump. I was thinking about 1.5 front and 1.75 inches in the rear should work and look good with my 215's- your experiences or opinions would be greatly appreciated!!!

ps- what is the general rule of thumb for getting a camber kit? If I drop 1.5" or 1.75", will a camber kit be needed or should I just go to a alignment shop afterward and have them tweak the alignment and the toe in/out?????

it is recomended that for any drop you have a camber kit.

stock shocks will blow after a short time if you lower it past about 2in. I would stay with the drop you said until you get new shocks.

you have coilovers, adjust it to the height you think it looks good at, if its too low, raise it.
