question about new springs

I just recently purchased a set of Evotion lowering springs that lowers the car by 1.25 inches. I was just wondering if I would need to replace my shocks or any other goodies since my car is a 2001 w/ approx 150k miles on it.

Not necessary if they're not blown already but would be a good idea since they have so many miles on it you'll probably enjoy your ride better.

tokicos blues shock are pretty good if u decide to change them and the price is decent...another alternative is konis...but cost more. also invest in a spc or ingalls camber kit would be good too.

yea. tokico blues will work great.. i was rollin on tein s-techs and later upgraded to tokico blues.. it was a pretty nice ride..

as for installation, if you know how to read/follow instructions (i.e. the DIY) and if you know how to use a wrench, you'll be fine. this was the first 'major' DIY i did, and me and another friend (with very little, if any) suspension experience were able to finish the installation in a driveway in about 4 hours.. assuming you have the proper tools, that is.. the tie rod is a bit tricky to remove and you can potentially mess it up, so i do highly suggest a tie rod removal tool..

I really don't know much about suspension but I'm trying to get my ride lowered right the first time - on a budget. I don't want it down to the ground, just looking good.
First, I'd like to buy either 17" or 18" wheels, not sure which would look better - suggestions?
I'm also going to buy some eibach coilovers just like these except for an '03, from ebay for $275 (good deal?).
Somebody said I need struts? If so, what's a good brand and price?

Then I have to buy a camber kit, which I have found on ebay for $150 (good deal?), but I don't know what's a good brand (set of ingalls)

Basically, I'm wondering if this is the right stuff I need? Especially if I should get 17's or 18's and if I need struts. Are adjustable coilovers alright? I really hope you can help! Thanks for your time! - sorry so long

-Dust
ps. if anybody has a whole new setup of what I need, please tell me!

bump....anybody?

ronaldo9 12-04-2006 05:36 PM

Your setup is fine but I'd go with some tein basics for example or springs and konis bc if you buy sleeves for 275 and you'll have to buy shocks eventually which is 400 roughly for tokico blues so you're better off buying a full coilover or good shocks/springs from the get go. Ingalls is a good choice for camber kit but check out SPC as well. Truehonda sells them. Just throwing ideas for you. Good luck with your setup.
