thats wut I did :P |
Hopefully, they should feel great with the Sportlines. Next week I should get both Progress bars as well, along with new endlinks. After that, it's just the rear strut bar and I should be done with the suspension. I even thought about an underbrace, but nahh...he he, that's too much, besides I hear they scrape a lot. |
Just got mine 2 days ago, congrats, I know how you feel. Im finally gonna be dropped! |
Congrats! I got the same setup on my car. (Sportlines & Tokicos) Installed it last week. No more bouncing around in my car. I don't dread driving my car over little bumps anymore. :2pimp: |
how low of a drop are they being installed on? i have goldlines wich settled at about 2" but peolple say that its too low for tokicos to handle |
Lol, that shit freaks me out...he he Thanks for the compliments guys. The Sportlines dropped my car about 1.5" and probably even a little more. On some 04 models I've seen 2 finger wheel gaps, but for some reason on my car it's a litlle less than 1 finger gap, seems like I have almost no gap at all. My car's tail is really bouncy though, and I mean really bouncy. Everyone says these shocks will fix the problem. I can't wait till Saturday morning to get them installed. I'll keep you guys posted. |
1 Attachment(s) Okkkkkkkk, Yeahhhhhh!!! LOL!! Finally here... |

LOL, Yes they do uh?? He he, Thanks Jeff for a great product and a great deal  . I took them on Saturday to a machine shop but they were too busy :( , so I'll take it next week. Resizing these babys is a very delicate process, not as easy as I thought, but they'll be in the hands of a machinist so the shocks should be fine. |
glad your excited  |
im thinking about a set for my stock springs. post anything you notice about the ride quality please. |
I just ordered a complete set for my 02 LX. I think I have one bad up front. As long as it fixes that, I'll be happy. The better ride is an extra bonus for me :) |
Are you gonna install them yourself? |
But of course. Yeah, I try to do as much of the work as I can to save money on labor. |
Cool it shouldn't be hard unless the front struts need to be altered. I like it when stuff bolts on. |
I need to order my springs. I have had my tokicos sittin next to my bed for lke a week. I cant wait much longer. I need goldlines tomorrow. I hope they get shipped quick. I bet youll love it, I am freakin anxious. Wanted my car lowered for like 8 months since I had my rims. |
I got my rims & tires today. They feel great and handle way better than stock tires. Hopefully, with my new Tokicos, the car will feel even better, but I have yet to resize the shocks(which by the way I'm so concerned about) because it's not going to be as easy as I thought. I'm taking them to a machine shop. A professional has to do this, otherwise your car could end up never aligning again. |
What do you need to resize on the tokicos? |
drill the hole 14mm, to 16, I cant bellieve that question is still being asked, and your not a noob, no offense. Yeah, my rims and tires made such a difference. When I lower I will be able to take turns much faster. I can only take them at like 35 for a 90degree turn. Thats with some nice sliding though. |
Do most people with tokicos bring them to a machine shop? I was under the impression that opening the hole could be done yourself. |
You could do it yourself, yet keep in mind that the bolts that will go through those holes you are modifying are used to align your vehicle. If for some reason you mess up during the drilling process on either one of the holes, you might as well buy a new shock. IMO, even a minuscule mistake in those holes can prevent you from ever aligning your car. This is why I want to take it to a machine shop and do it "the right way". Please correct me if I'm wrong. |

Makes sense, those tokicos don't come cheap. |
I drilled mine myself and they're fine.. they're not near as easy as u'd think to drill, the bit didnt even make it, the last one was done w/ a dremel and friend of mine did it.. i had it aligned and they didnt mention anything about probs, drives fine... so uhm.. I really dont know wut to say other than I didnt have probs.. |
its prolly a better idea to have it done by a shop, but then again, do you know for sure they're taking good care of it? do u have a guarantee if they **** up? more so if you do yourself im sure, but even then who says anything is 100%.. up to you, if ur really impatient like me, do it yourself :P if you can wait, thats prolly a better idea.. |
a Step Bit would allow you to drill it near perfectly.....http://www.smarthome.com/89022.html |
