Need help finding new sway bar bushings and brackets for rsx rear sway bar?

Ok, I talked with grey and he said I am going to need to get new sway bar bushings and brackets for the rsx rear sway bar. Well he said to go to jegs.com, but I cant find anything on there. Does anyone know if I need the parts made for the rsx or parts made for the 2k1 civic? Also if you have a link to either parts or both, please help me out, thanks.

You can just get the universal 19mm bushing from energy suspension (part #9.5156).

Was it you that had a problem with hondaautomotiveparts.com (Majestic Honda)?
Well, you can get those are acura car land.... basically just like Majestic, but Acura.

AutoZone carries Energy Suspension. I found mine right on the shelf and was amazed!

robbclark1 08-05-2004 08:04 AM

Brackets are the same, you just need bushings if you have an EX/02+ LX.

TeLLy 08-05-2004 09:12 AM

Bushings can be had from any Acura dealership for less than $20 for both.

355-9-5156G 3/4'' $13.99
355-9-5156R 3/4'' $13.99

Get the G because it is black. Black ones are better than the Red ones.

Sickboy 08-05-2004 11:35 AM

Jegs also charges you a handling fee, so they're closer to $20 shipped.

FYI, I got those ES bushings from JEGS as well, they're good. Quicker response, and slightly rougher ride quality. BUT, they are thicker and pushed the bar out and into my exhaust, rattle rattle. I could have moved the exhaust or wrapped the bar, but bah I'll probably sell the car next year anyways, so I just sold them.

So I dont need both then, just 355-9-5156g?

It comes with a set of 2. R is red, G is black. You can call jegs or ES and ask them, but my box came with two bushings. 3/4" = 19mm. Well actually 19mm = .748" but close enough. Just get 1 set.

streetglower 08-05-2004 11:59 AM

Cool, I appreciate it.

it's not just color. One is Greasable one is not. I believe Red is greasable. Read the package. I don't know why you would pay shipping when you can get them at AutoZone but, oh'well.

I have never seen energy suspension bushings at autozone.

streetglower 08-05-2004 12:58 PM

so I dont need much more than the rsx bar and the ES bushings then correct? And the brackets on my car I can just reuse.

You = Owned

Straight from ES's website:

Color Code for sway bar bushing sets, add: G- black, R- red.

Yes, if you have a rear sway bar already, the brackets should work.

streetglower 08-05-2004 06:37 PM

cool, thanks.

gh0st 08-30-2004 07:18 PM

sorry to bring back an old thread, but i don't want to start a new one..

http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...13S6M0_B29.gif

it's Illust #6 for the 19mm bushings right? Part #35948 from Acura?

robbclark1 08-30-2004 07:27 PM

yes #6 and whatever the corresponding numbers are. You might think about getting some poly ones. They are about the same price and better.

gh0st 08-30-2004 07:29 PM

will i notice a significantly harsher ride (i'm already on hayames) on poly compared to oem?

robbclark1 08-30-2004 09:38 PM

no. it is just a sway bar bushing, it has very little to do with ride quality. It is just reduces movement of the sway bar that rubber bushings usually allow.

Sickboy 08-31-2004 10:47 AM

YES. You will notice a slight difference in ride quality, I noticed the difference the most when going over uneven pavement (construction areas). There is so much construction work on my daily commute that I finally just sold all my poly bushings and the ride is not as harsh. I miss the quicker response though.
