2nd set of rotors/calipers in 2 months??? So I replaced the front rotors and brake pads on my '02 Civic EX back on 7/17/17, due to the fact that the drivers side brake pad was so worn, it scored the rotor badly. This of course resulted in grinding while driving, that got nastier while braking. Fast forward to current day, and it has occurred yet again. Same side. Only 2 months on new rotors/brake pads? Before I go through a new set of rotors/pads, what could be causing this? Thanks for any advice. |
Re: 2nd set of rotors/calipers in 2 months??? Bad bearing? Sticking Caliper? |
Re: 2nd set of rotors/calipers in 2 months??? I cleaned and greased the slide pins and contact points for the pads on the calipers. Would a bad bearing cause this? |
Re: 2nd set of rotors/calipers in 2 months??? are the pads wearing evenly? or is one wearing more then the other? is your fuel mileage bad?....that would point to a seized or stuck caliper |

Driver's side pad is wearing thin fast. I'll take another look at that sides caliper. Anything obvious to check for? is one pad on the same caliper wearing faster then the other one, not the difference between drivers or passengers |

So the outer pad is almost completely worn, while the inner pad is hardly worn at all. Maybe the caliper IS bad? What exactly is a sign of a bad caliper? |
