WHEEL COVERS

I know the stock wheel covers are held on with the wheel lug nuts. If I want to put on some snap on wheel covers, can I take the old ones off, and will the lug nuts still hold the wheels on ok? In other words, can you run the stock wheels without the bolt on covers?

Why not? Plenty of people just drive with the steelies and no cover. Most people use just the rim (no cover) with snow tires, and for autoX, the wheel cover has to come off, so you have no choice but to run on the steel rim. I would guess that the shoulder of the lug nut holds the cover on. Otherwise if you cracked the cover near the lug hole, you'd get a wobbly wheel cuz the nut would be loose.

Ok cool. I'll try a wheel and see how it goes. Just never had any experience with bolt on wheel covers before.

Thanks
