Rear Brake pads

I had to replace the rear discs on my 2003 Civic 1.6i Automatic. Regarding the pads, I got two options from Pagid:
  • T3017 Akebono system, from 01/2005
  • T1263 Nissin system, until 12/2004
So I went with T1263, especially that Nissin is stamped on the calipers. But when I removed the old pads, I realised they're not quite the same: on the back of the old ones there is a protruding key, which I assume engages in the slot in the brake caliper, to stop it from turning when the handbrake is applied. T1263 does not have the key. I then figured out the T3017 has the key, however. Otherwise the new and old pads had the same dimensions.

In the end I fitted T1263 (that's without the key), brake works perfectly, handbrake works too. The question is: should I get the other type (with the key), could it have been wrongly fitted by the previous owner? Any thoughts from someone who had this dilemma would be helpful.

Re: Rear Brake pads

Pads are already installed and used, you can't return them now. They are working .......so personally I'd leave them in and see if anything unusual happens later on.
