225/45/17 kumho asx confirmation?
 

hey guys,

i did a lot of searching and the results i get are ambigious. Some say it will work others say it won't. Then there some people that say they will get them and doesn't post the result.

My question are for people with a 1.75 drop in the front and 1.5 in the rears with neuspeed sports or further drop.

Will a 225/45/17 work on a 17x7 rim without rubbing?

I plan on getting kumho asx tires because of the combination of performance, tire noise and price.

I have the kumho 711's right now and they perform really well. They just have really horrible road noise after you put 25k on them.

yes i know 215/45/17 is the best size for our cars, but i want a wider tiring because on do a daily communte on a twisty high way everday and want a little better handling.

Forget performance, they don't even hold dry pavement. I have them and can't wait to get rid of them. 215/45s fit just fine, I don't see why you'd want any bigger.

The asx's got very good reviews on tirerack. Can you recommend a tire that gives decent handling with long threadlife under $100 a tire? I have the kumho 711's right now and i love the handling just the noise is horrible.

I admit part of the reason i want the 225's is for looks as well. I also like the benefit of better handling.

i said decent handling. i know you can't get both. Some with decent handling. Something on par with kumho 711's, but with longer thread life. For example i know the pirelli's are better, but they have shorter thread life and are a lot more expensive then the asx.

I want something with Threadlife > handling > road noise in that order.

Not for under 100 for a 17" tire. Sticky rubber costs more money.

Try the Nitto Neogens. I know a few people running them who love em. 280 treadwear I think.

I've gone through a bunch of ASX's. They last awhile but they don't hold the best

you should try the yokohama parada spec-2s....i paid $92 each off tirerack.com for 205/45/17......and they last me like 30,000miles...and i drive my tires pretty damn hard

i have the asx in 205/40/17 and they are alright not the best road grip either i've had better tires, i would get the yokohamas like prccivic said

thanx for the advice guys. i'm thinking i'm just going to get 215/45/17, since no one really knows on the rubbing issue. I'll look into the yokohamas, i thought about them first, but i heard they have really horrible treadlife.
