PBR Brakes?

Anyone on here have or know anything about PBR brake pads??

Jeff at SLP recommended them to me and I might order them...I have never heard of them personally but I dont know shit about brakes. I was going to do Hawk or OEM, but I might do PBR now.

I have Powerslot slotted rotors, btw. I have AEM now and they are gone at 15k or so miles (damn 19s and an automatic kill brakes!)

Thanks-

Eli

PBR= Axxis, and they're awesome.

I have them. Good pads, but dusty. I recommend.

The Corvette Z06 2001 has PBR as standard brake pads. This set up at the time had 109 ft stopping distance 60-zero. They do dust probably more than less but I sure like how they stop in such a hurry! If you find brake dust objectionable PBR does have the ceramics with probably the corresponding loss of stopping distance.

Since my 2004 Honda Civic is new with less than 1000 miles, PBR's will remain my number one option when replacement is wanted, needed.

with the metal masters, is the heat up time before normal braking operation long. or can you just go out and use them for daily driving.

Boilermaker1 12-08-2004 08:24 AM

You can go out and use them. The operating temperature starts somewhere below 100F, so pretty much the first second you hit them, they're ready to go.

awesome, i've got another question. as far as pbr goes, their street brakes go from Ultimates -> Metal Master -> Deluxe? and if so, do the ultimates also have a short heat up time?

Boilermaker1 12-08-2004 12:29 PM

I find that I need to ease the ultimates in the first time when they're cold. I think they're good starting about 90F, so when its cold like now, they're a little hesitant to grab at first, but after the first time in the morning, they're fine. All street pads are designed to grab right away.

Shlomo 12-08-2004 02:00 PM

so would you say that it'd be a better bet to get the ultimates over the metal masters? i think it's only like a 10 buck difference

Boilermaker1 12-08-2004 02:07 PM

Never tried the MMs, but if you don't mind dust, the Ultimates are incredible.

Shlomo 12-08-2004 02:11 PM

do they eat up rotors real bad? i'll be on brembro blanks by the way

Boilermaker1 12-08-2004 04:41 PM

Not really. I'd say I have about 9K (hard miles too) on the pads now, Brembos at the same time, and there's barely enough of a ridge from the pad wear to catch my fingernail on. I wouldn't say its bad at all.

Shlomo 12-08-2004 06:38 PM

ok, thanks for all your help man

Yoyoio 12-08-2004 08:03 PM

Boilermarker1 how about noise? does these pads make alot of noise? i rather have dust over noise

Boilermaker1 12-08-2004 10:14 PM

They're pretty quiet. Depends how hard you are on them.
