Impact Break on a tire
 

well, one of my tires has been leaking pressure quite a bit lately and when i took it to the shop they found it had an impact break in it. it is basically a bulge on the inner side of the tire that they said was caused by hitting something hard and breaking one of the linings on the inside causeing air to fill that area and bulge it up.

now, ive never heard of anything like this before and the tire is about 2k miles old so i dont see how this could be my fault. i did see the bulge and it was pretty noticeable. they filled it with some sealant to help prevent it from leaking, so that might do the trick, otherwise its a new tire for me.

anyone know if this will be covered under any warrenty of some sort? the tire is a bridgestone fuzion 215/40/17

get the tire replaced ASAP... impact breaks are very dangerous, as the side wall could burst at any time. just my $.02

would it be replaced under warrenty since it is less than 2k miles old?

Some performance tires have little to no warranty because of application. Brands like Michelin will be covered as my Pilot's were last summer. I got an impact break doing 170 km/h and hitting a rised up expansion plate on an overpass. Thought the struts were gonna fly through the hood.

get the tire replaced right away.

do you think bridgestone would have a warrenty? also, this is a brand new line of tires from them, the fuzion tires, do you think the tire could be faulty from the factory?

probably not. Impact breaks are generally caused from a hard hit. I'm not a huge fan or Bridgestone at all but I doubt it was faulty/defective.

Best thing to do is call a tire shop that carry Bridgestone and ask them for warranty info on that tire.

Or look for a Bridgestone customare care number.
