2003 Acura EL Engine Swap (Almost Done! Need Your Help) Hello! I've been banging away to swap out an old, dead 1.7L VTEC out of my 2003 Acura EL. I've got a fresh motor in and good to go, but I'm stuck. I'm reusing the old manual transmission (changed the clutch while I was in there), and I've gotten to a point in reassembly where I don't know how to proceed. On top of the transmission, where the shift cables are connected, there is a tube. I had a piece of cut tubing on it (I didn't cut it), and I don't even know if it's supposed to be there, or where it's meant to be. I took a look at a lot of wrecked Civics at a couple of nearby scrapyards (as well as the old Hayne's manual), and I can't find anything that's a match. Need Your Help) It’s a breather tube for the transmission usually help minimize condensation and make sure transmission does not pressurize when it heats up and pushes fluid out the seals. You likely have a port in the bottom of your resonator that it plugs into. very likely a cold Canadian addition we don’t see down here. Worst case senario just pop a pvc valve on it and call it a day. |

Just have to add fluids and see if she starts. I neglected to buy oil today and didn't think I'd get this far tonight, haha. Please pray to the various motoring gods for me. |
