Loss of power hi guys. i have a 2001 honda civic hx i noticed while driving my car that it was losing power. then on new years my car turned on but when i put it in gear it turned off. whenever it does stay on while its in first gear the car wont go over 2000 rpm. it would struggle to turn on so i changed the starter. when idleing the engine would shake. i changed the cooling fan switch and that stopped the shaking but it still has no power. my mechanic has checked the timing belt, the valve adjustments, he did a compression test, spark plugs, igntion coils and everything is good. i cleaned the idle air control valve and the throttle body. i was thinking maybe it would be the catalytic converter so i emptied it out and the car still has no power. i dont know what else it could be. if you guys could help me out i would really appreciate it. thanks in advanced. |
Re: Loss of power Sounds like your civic is running in limp mode.. Have you checked/replaced the distributor recently? |
