window moves the door???

everytime i roll the window down it pushes the door panel out and it goes back in when the window gets completely rolled up, is this normal or is their any way to fix it?

Diznavis 05-05-2002 11:50 PM

mine does the same thing

opticalvetc 05-05-2002 11:59 PM

yeah mine does that too. i guess its normal. mind you thats what they say about the knocking suspension too, so who knows. niffty feature on $20,000 plus car

Importracer 05-06-2002 01:16 AM

thats just the bar inside, making a water seal so that non of the components inside the door die, ie your speakers and what not.. it seals the door by applying presure m 2 cents

FurBall 05-06-2002 09:37 AM

Why it does that ===> CHEAP CAR. :shake:

That's my opinion... HOWEVER, a few days ago it was raining, and I was messing around with my window, rolling it down and rolling it back up, hoping to wipe/dry off the damn droplets... It didn't! The damned door opens just wide enough so that it's not touching the outer glass.... Is that a feature, or a side effect? ???

Anyone have manual windows? Does this thing happen to the doors on your car?

Ronin 05-06-2002 10:40 AM

Mine does that too, the door movement that is. I've seen this on other cars also, not just our Civics... so it's pretty normal.

What I do find strange though, is that it only happens on my drivers side door. Passenger side doesn't do this.

It was there for me in the beginning but came about over time. My guess is that it's the normal breaking in of most cars in this price range. My passenger side doesn't do it but my girlfriend hates riding in my car so she's rarely there to use it. As long as water's not getting in it's fine with me.

SpacemanBob 05-06-2002 08:08 PM

ummm.. this happening is a good sign that your window is making good contact and sealing. I could go into all kinds of laws about air pressure and such, but......... ever close your moonroof and your ears pop? Same deal. It's sealing. it's a good thing

jro 05-06-2002 08:48 PM

don't let it bother you. the windows do that on lots of cars that i've been in. it's normal.

Macko 05-07-2002 10:45 PM

WHo cares, at least it seals up tight and nuthin' gets damnages... look at the older gen civic and integras... windows don''t seal that tight.... easy pry open the window
