4200k redline?

Hey guys. Recently I've been having a slight problem with my 2003 honda civic si with 105k miles. There is a 4200K redline in all of the gears. However when i turn the vehicle off then turn it back on it's normal again. Also it doesn't always do it. Sometimes it work fine and then other times it will do it. So it's definitely intermitent. Also the engine light doesn't come on ever. Just a few things, new cat a year ago, and spark plugs are good. Maybe my vtec solenoid needs some cleaning? not really sure but it seems more like a computer or sensor problem since it doesn't happen all of the time? any info would be great fellas. Thanks

Shayn

You are probably in limp mode. Although the check engine light isnt on it could still be throwing a code so scan for one. Could be an o2 sensor, could be the ecu. Alot of different possibilities.
