Door lock problem

Hello, my girlfriend has a 2003 Civic EX Coupe recently the driver door will not unlock or lock with the remote or the switch in the car. You can unlock it with the key and by pulling the plunger up. Also when locking it you have to pull up slightly on the door handle. Any information would be very helpful. Thank you

Re: Door lock problem

You door lock actuator has gone bad. It is attached to the lock and is what lock and unlocks your car. It's not that expensive of a part ,but its kind of difficult to do. You have to take the door panel of and the the whole lock assembly has to come out ( the part the the rod on the body latches onto) and then you have to take it apart to change the actuator. Were are you at I can do it for you for a price? I'm in Washington state.
