power loss at 4000 rpm I have a 2001 honda civic with vtec. today when passing my engine stumbled at 4000rpm, i tried it again to make sure and its exactly 4000rpm and the check engine light came on. HELP, whats wrong with my car??? |
Re: power loss at 4000 rpm wont rev past 4k rpm??? first check ur oil, vtec is run by oil pressure, if ur low, add some, it may fix it. if that doesnt fix it, have the code pulled, and tell us what it is, maybe we can help |
Re: power loss at 4000 rpm i bet its vtec system malfunction. check oil and the vtec solenoid screen filter for dirt. |
Re: power loss at 4000 rpm that would have been my next solution, pull the vtec solenoid assembly adn go from there |
Re: power loss at 4000 rpm My questions: How many miles and when was the timing belt changed? |
Re: power loss at 4000 rpm added oil the engine light went off and car drives ok. 208000kms on it and never had a problem -- ever. |
Re: power loss at 4000 rpm nice, congrats |
