2006 Civic 1.8L Cam Position Sensor Location/Replacement

Hi everyone,

I am new to this site and have questions that I am hoping someone can help me with. The other day my car started running bad then just quit. Had it towed to the dealer and they said the car needed a new camshaft position sensor (among other things) adding to a dollar amount of almost $2K. So, I got the car home and had a friend pull the code and it was P0365. I have a new sensor but I cannot find any info on where exactly this sensor is located on the engine or the steps needed to replace it.

Also, will I have to delete the code once I finally manage to replace the sensor?

Thanks everyone

John

Did you get an OEM sensor?

I have a new sensor but I cannot find any info on where exactly this sensor is located on the engine
End of cylinder head on the drivers side, near the corner, pointing toward the throttle body or firewall
3 wires on the sensor connector.
One bolt.

Make sure a rodent didn't chew the wires, that's kinda common in my area

You will need to erase codes with a scanner OR disconnect the battery to erase codes (but disconnecting the battery may make the radio lock up, so make sure you have the unlock code for it)

I did just because I was not sure of the quality of aftermarket sensors from a store like Autozone or others. Are the aftermarket sensors not good?

Honda's are picky when it comes to aftermarket sensors and gaskets, they tend to not work as well, or at all

I saw the thread and wanted to see if anyone new the connector wire color. We accidentally forgot to remove the connector when replacing the head and the wires were pulled out. Just need to know what colored wire goes to what slot on the connector. I have a 07 civic ex.. I do have the wire diagram but doesnt show which wire goes to what. A pic would work well for me. Thanks in advance
