floormats what do you guys use in the summer for floormats? winter mats year round? the carpet ones that came with the car? other? |
Carpet |
I go with the OEM mats, I love the way they fit. |
I have been using the oem but my left heel is wearing a hole in the mat where the clutch is. I will have to get something or at least do something before it hits the carpet. I liked the mats in my '93 accord that had some tuff stuff in the heel area. Some strong carpet of some sort. My heel never wore through after 5 yrs and 150k.. |
OEM Carpets, Dust is the only problem. |
i have oem mats and use a towel on top of them because i'm too lazy to clean them when they get dirty... |
I do the exact same as falken. |
ya i got that wearing thing going on to near the clutch. looks like shit. also, anyone got any ideas how to really clean them good. i try vaccumming them for ever and i never get all the grass and stuff off. i also play volleyball quite a bit over the summer and i always find sand ground down in there. cant get it out. |
Shampoo them? |
throw them in the washer...works great for when they are really dirty (pre-treat first though) |
I bought some cheap heavy plastic ones for the winter and I put my OEM CIVIC ones back in in the summer.... |
For floor mats, I have the neuspeed floor mats. http://members.tripod.com/praxisperf...e/461a6840.jpg For cleaning I spray with simple green and foaming carpet cleaner then let it set for a few minutes. The I use simple green and water and a srcub brush to get the rest. hose off and let dry. I use an old tooth brush for the embroidered lettering. As for the worn foot spot I thinking of attaching a rubber foot reast to diamond plate. |
I have the OEM carpet mats but I also have the holes near the clutch and near the brake pedal. It is pretty sad that this has happened...the car only has 23,000 miles on it. I had a 94 civic before with 84k miles and I had the OEM floor mats...They were perfect. Too clean the mats, I soak them with carpet cleaner, and scrub them with a brush....Then I either go over them with my LIttle Grean Machine(Carpet Cleaner) or I hose them off and let them dry in the sun. (That only works on hot days) |
I use the Civic factory rubber mats that came with my car. |
Yeah I bought the OEM all weather mats and work well for anytime of the year I have found |
well i have oem ones but during the winter i place some half rubber/half carpet ones on top of the oem ones. my factory ones looks brand new cause theyve never really been used. i bought them about 6 months ago off hondawerx. :( they didnt come with the car. in the back i keep the oem in and nothing over them. no ever really rides in the back. |
