floormats

Carpet

I go with the OEM mats, I love the way they fit.

Mbow 04-27-2003 10:34 PM

I have been using the oem but my left heel is wearing a hole in the mat where the clutch is. I will have to get something or at least do something before it hits the carpet. I liked the mats in my '93 accord that had some tuff stuff in the heel area. Some strong carpet of some sort. My heel never wore through after 5 yrs and 150k..

OEM Carpets, Dust is the only problem.

FALKEN 04-28-2003 03:36 PM

i have oem mats and use a towel on top of them because i'm too lazy to clean them when they get dirty...

white2K2EX 04-28-2003 09:23 PM

I do the exact same as falken.

4bangin 04-28-2003 09:26 PM

ya i got that wearing thing going on to near the clutch. looks like shit. also, anyone got any ideas how to really clean them good. i try vaccumming them for ever and i never get all the grass and stuff off.
i also play volleyball quite a bit over the summer and i always find sand ground down in there. cant get it out.

white2K2EX 04-28-2003 09:43 PM

Shampoo them?

FALKEN 04-29-2003 09:23 AM

throw them in the washer...works great for when they are really dirty (pre-treat first though)

I bought some cheap heavy plastic ones for the winter and I put my OEM CIVIC ones back in in the summer....

PunkingCivic 04-29-2003 09:37 AM

For floor mats, I have the neuspeed floor mats.

For cleaning I spray with simple green and foaming carpet cleaner then let it set for a few minutes. The I use simple green and water and a srcub brush to get the rest. hose off and let dry. I use an old tooth brush for the embroidered lettering. As for the worn foot spot I thinking of attaching a rubber foot reast to diamond plate.

civicdude 04-29-2003 10:22 AM

I have the OEM carpet mats but I also have the holes near the clutch and near the brake pedal. It is pretty sad that this has happened...the car only has 23,000 miles on it. I had a 94 civic before with 84k miles and I had the OEM floor mats...They were perfect.

Too clean the mats, I soak them with carpet cleaner, and scrub them with a brush....Then I either go over them with my LIttle Grean Machine(Carpet Cleaner) or I hose them off and let them dry in the sun. (That only works on hot days)

GrayGhost 04-29-2003 11:42 AM

I use the Civic factory rubber mats that came with my car.

NickDaMans02Civic 05-02-2003 11:54 PM

Yeah I bought the OEM all weather mats and work well for anytime of the year I have found

AR 05-05-2003 12:51 PM

well i have oem ones but during the winter i place some half rubber/half carpet ones on top of the oem ones. my factory ones looks brand new cause theyve never really been used. i bought them about 6 months ago off hondawerx. :( they didnt come with the car.

in the back i keep the oem in and nothing over them. no ever really rides in the back.
