Getting the smell out of a Smoker's car any suggestions? my friend bought a truck and the previous owner was a smoker..besides air freshiners any other ideas? |
Step 1: Go to Wal-Mart. Step 2: Buy 2 bottles of Febreeze spray. Step 3: Go to friends truck. Step 4: Spray the f*ck out of the interior. Step 5: Wait 2 hours then respray. Step 6: If it still smells repeat step 5. If no smell is present go to step 7. Step 7: Enjoy fresh scent truck cab. |
try odor eaters? just stick a whole bunch of them on different places in the car hahaha :) |
I smoked in my 93 accord for 5 years straight and wanted to get rid of the smell as to not turn away potential buyers. I soaked the interior with febreeze several times and the smell pretty much went away. Don't forget to run some through the heat/ac ducts as well. Spray the frebreeze and lysol at the bottom of the windshield with the heat on full blast. It will suck the spray in and through the ducts. Do the interior several times. Soak it good but not so bad that it may end up mildewing. Roll windows down and leave in garage as she dries. |
all the carpet/headliner/cloth fabric needs to be steam cleaned. then spray some deodorizer. |
Use febreeze, then coffee grounds. don't use wet coffee grounds. hehe. :_please: |
Febreeze is mos def not the way to go.... it is merely a mask. THe way that it works is incapsulates the smell. I think it is the same chemical response as soap. I think the proper term is imulsification. The only difference is that you dont rinse Frebreeze. Steam cleaning is the way to go. |
I too would suggest febreeze, but if you don't want to use that, go to Wal-Mart or someplace, and find a spray that says it actually destroys the odor rather than covering it up. |

if you want to do it for free just drive around for afew days with all the windows open, and on the highways and stuff |
steam cleaning is basically the only way to go without it coming back, but sometimes the smell will come back |
