RainX For Windows

I had a question for the product RainX. I used it on my windows because one of my friends recomended it to me. The thing is, is that if I drive at knight when it is kind of dewy, my windows fog up like a bizatch. Nothing I do will clear it unless I keep my windshield wipers on. Anyone have this happen to you? How in the hell can I fix it?

its rain x's special formula crap!

To fix this just add some RainX Fog crap to the inside of your windows and this should do the trick!

Here in maryland they need to make some SNOW X

Ya know that knob that controlls the ac? Set the temp to fairly warm, then make the air shoot at your windshield.

Are you crazy? That stuff works great on my windshield.

rain x isnt good for your windshield wipers, it reduces their effectiveness.

On a previous car, I found Rain-X to make the wipers streak more... But, I used it on the rest of the windows... friends used to comment how the entire car (body and glass) beaded after a rain :-D

Anyhow, I've got all 3 types of Rain X and don't use them... I've found its best to leave the windshield alone. In place of Rain-X, I've just been using the Zaino when I do the whole car. It helps the windows bead up, and I also do the side view mirrors...

I might try the Rain-X again, but not on the front windshield.

Yeah, if you use them often. Having Rain-x, I rarely use my wipers.

i use rain-x too. It was kinda trippy at first. Took awhile to get used to it, but i think it's great! The only thing i dont like is Fog-X. It's pretty sh!tty.... didnt work for me

Ed 03-12-2003 12:28 PM

Yeah, same here, for the first couple year, i hardly ever used the windshield wipers, i hated the way they made the lines around the edges of the wiper, so i just didn't use em

i LOVE rain x and fog x...thats my $0.02.

RedRider 03-16-2003 07:53 PM

I've always had good luck using rainx on the exterior but you have to wipe off the haze well. I tried using the FogX and always had problems streaking and sun glare. It is so bad that I don't use it at all.

HomerSimpson 03-16-2003 08:15 PM

I have had nothing but bad experiences with Rain-X

gotti 03-22-2003 01:34 PM

ive had nothing but good experience with rain-x, on all 3 of my familys cars. Dunno what the problem is for you guys?

Mystix 03-22-2003 08:16 PM

Can u put rain-x on the body? wont it damage the paint?

GoOkStA 03-22-2003 08:24 PM

i put rainx on like 6 months ago and it still doin a good job. fogx is crap, a good way to prevent foggin up is keepin ur interior windows clean. that may just be for me i dunno

Friedrice 03-22-2003 08:25 PM

When I used rain-x it was crap. Sure it repelled some water and made it bead up and flow away, but when I went to use the wipers they bounced and chattered and streaked like crazy. Now that the rain-x is worn off my wipers work like normal and I like it that way.

GoOkStA 03-22-2003 08:28 PM

streakin noise sucks a nut. and wit rainx u have to go a certain speed for it to slide off. wut is it like 35 mph, but under that speed i have to use my wiper.

pdxbiker 03-23-2003 12:01 AM

Don't use rainX, Rain X eats your wipers, thats why your wipers streak. I use to use Rainx alot but when I inspected my wipers, it was all rough. I replaced my wipers and applied RainX and within a month my wipers were rough again.

tAkTicS 03-23-2003 11:37 PM

i tried the rain x that is made for the inside of your windshield and hate it... it does stop the fogging, but it is too streaky in sunlight. my question is: how do you take this stuff off of the inside of your windshield? water? water/ vinegar?

Robert_K 03-24-2003 01:41 PM

I love rain-x. With rain-x you don't need wipers on.
