help: cleaning chrome look a like wheels

so my boss gives me a set of wheels to clean over the weekend. they've been seriously neglected, looks like water spots or salt stains on the whole rim. the inside of the wheel is just paint, like a cream color, while the outside of the wheel looks like chrome paint but might be silver with a clearcoat, hard to tell. ive tried everything to get these stains off, meguairs wheel polish, blue magic, brasso, some industrial orange cleaner, acetone, laquer thinner, basically everything i could find. but this stuff isnt coming off. any suggestions?

ahh too late, i dont have a digicam anyway. i ended up just polishing em up and making them look shiny, but told my boss that he neglected the wheels too long. 3 yrs sittin outside in the rain on some cheap rims what am i supposed to do lol cant perform miracles. but he was only payin me 40 bucks. if he would have paid me more i wouldve got the stains out but it was too much labor to do, about 2 or 3 hours a wheel.
