Is it ok to wax brand new paint? I just got my Sedan OEM Front Lip re-painted and I was wondering if it is safe to wax it now? or should I wait? |
no, its not good for the paint. wait about 2 weeks and let it settle. |

My bumper was dried in an oven. |
depends on how thick the paint is, how much thinner was added to the paint, temperature, etc etc. if you dont really know how thick the paint is or how thin the paint was mixed, and the painter doesnt know, then you should wait at least a month. is there a clear coat on this new paint? if so might wanna wait 2 months. |
Ok Now I am very confused one says you can wax it if its dried useing the oven another says that you have to wait at least a 1 month im confused |
the regular honda paint is almost paper thin. just wait 2-4 weeks before waxing to be safe man. |
had the side of my car repainted and i asked the Honda Bodyshop(the ones that painted it) how long before i could wax it and put on my front end cover, he said 6-8 weeks. even modern paint still has to cure. i havent heard of anyone oven drying the paint, except for powder coat, but thats not the paint on the car. 6-8 WEEKS! you wont do any damage in 2 months as far as oxidation goes, so why rush it. |
I'm waiting 2 months just to play it safe. I had a bunch of stuff (driver's door, front bumper) replaced and painted after my Civic got sideswiped. The autobody shop owner said to wait 1 month. I'd rather wait one extra month more just in case. |
