sticky rear deck.. you know the film that accumulates on the interior windows from the fabric on a new car? (makes the windows look foggy) we'll, i just took out my rear deck and it's covered with it.. sticky to the touch. i tried wiping it down with water but it doesn't seem to be helping.. could I try rubbing alcohol? i don't wanna ruin the finish or anything.. |
yeah, I had that problem too, I brought it into the house, and cleaned the heck out of it it was quite nasty, it's worse where the brake light is because under normal circumstances, you cant clean that part I think the rear deck is a big flaw |
I had a similar situation while cleaning my car this past weekend...when I was cleaning the rear window, I looked up and saw that the headliner was filthy! With some black, sticky crap...I don't smoke, so it can't be that, but I do leave my windows open a lot. Rubbing alcohol sounds like a good idea, just use it in moedration since it could irritate it if you use too much...just my 2 cents... 2Hottie |
Instead of using rubbing alchohol, you can use Aftalyne or Simple Green.....Or some other type of cleaner. The aftalyne can be purchased at home depot, or lowes. |
yeah diluted simple green is best, or you can use laquer thinner, which i use to get out shoe scuff marks on the door panels. |
