Hahaha, that's so awesome How much did you charge?

civicdude 09-14-2002 09:00 PM

$125 but they gave me $130...I also got 3 more cars out of them. I have to detail there toyota Siena, There sister in laws Black Yukon and another car....

DaCurryman 09-14-2002 09:34 PM

Nice...if I had money, I'd come to you. =) Just outta curiosity, how long does it take you to detail the cars.

civicdude 09-14-2002 09:40 PM

Well this one took over 6 hours....Becuase it was disgusting, but normally it can take any where from 3-5 hours for a full detail

Tarik 09-15-2002 11:08 AM

damn, that is bad. you guys must of had fun detailing it.

nookiemonster 09-15-2002 03:03 PM

sorry but that's definitely not a 97 camry. The 97 had the body style right after that one. The one right before the new one...

civicdude 09-15-2002 05:24 PM

Sorry mah bad, it was a 96.....My mom has a 97....I was tired when I posted that.

2Hottie 09-15-2002 08:37 PM

For that $60 do you compound and polish the paint and shampoo the interior too? If you do, you should raise the price.....

I'm assuming since you're asking, you do CivicDude? Also, what's Compound? Damn, I sound like a newbie.

civicdude 09-16-2002 10:51 AM

I Use a buffing machine, not an orbital on the paint to remove, oxidation, scratches, and dirt.....That is what Compounding is in a basic explanation....I wrote what I charge DaCurryman, in the beginning of the post. I usually get $100-$125 for a full detail.

Well, for 2 guys who just started this as a side venture to make a lil extra cash, and me being a former detailer for a local dealership, $60 is a good price for what we do now. And normally, we make pretty good tips on our price (most I got was $20)...we do a basic wash, Meguiar's wax, and shampooing IF necessary, otherwise, just sweeping it out. No doubt, we will be raising our price, once we get into it heavier. For now, its just a price to cover some prices and make a lil extra money doing something we like doing....

2hottie...Thats how you gotta start off...Thats how I started back in 88.....Every year I raise my prices slightly but I still maitain my customers and I offer specials and free washes and different things to get more customers...
