Nu-Finish

I polished my car with this stuff called 'nu-finish' I guess it's not really a wax, smells like a petroleum based product. Anyways, washed my car yesterday and the bugs just washed off. It was awsome. The water beaded off nicely too. Quite impressed

Post in the correct forum. I am moving this post.

Sorry CivicDude, sometimes I get carried away.

Yep, it's great stuff. It may not shine quite as much as meg's gold or something but it will last for a long time. Just did my wife's car with it (cuz I am only waxing mine once a month....ssshhhh). Great product though.

I just used this product and I have to say its one of the most easy wax.. err Polymer jobs I've ever done ! And after one month, the bugs still come off without a problem... Looks like I found a new wax ! See ya Zymol...

do not use nu-finish! it wrecked the roof of my old 1992 BLACK civic. i think it was the result of mixing with the hot sun. I applied the stuff in the evening and buffed it off. a few weeks later i had all these swirl like marks and faded paint.

btw, this was after 4 months of getting my car painted.

civicdude 09-23-2002 11:18 AM

I have never had a problem with nu finish...I actually put a few coats of it on my car before the winter....

Mbow 09-25-2002 10:48 PM

Nu-Finish is an excellent product. It last forever. I'm about to put a couple coats on mine and my wife's for the winter. I don't know if it last a year but it will definately make it through the winter.

astigmatik 09-26-2002 07:49 PM

if it lasts forever, how the heck is it bonding to the paint so well and for so long? i don't want to know, i'll stick to mcguires gold class.

sure put it on before the winter, because nu finish and the sun don't mix very well on paint.

Mbow 09-26-2002 08:59 PM

I used to use it on a red integra all year round and never had any problems. I have no idea what happened in your case.

Meg's gold only last a month a two. So, if you are going to use it, I don't know what you are going to do all winter.

That's what I have been using. Just polished and put a coat on 2 days ago. Will put the nu finish on at the end of the month.

My aunt bought me some Nu-Finish but I'm still afraid to try it. Maybe I'll test it out on my roommate's old car. :)
