Cleaning Spill
 

A passenger of mine tipped over a jar of apple juice on the
front passenger foot well. Unfortunately, the cap was not secure on
the jar and a lot of apple juice poured out. We stopped at the next
rest area and soaked up as much as we could of the apple juice with
paper towels.

The juice went past my rubber mats, soaked the rugs, and even
soaked the cabin floor carpet.

What's the best way to clean this? Luckily it isn't going to stain
since it is apple juice. But it smells and the sugar makes it a
little sticky.

Goto the store and pick up some carpet cleaner. You can try tuff stuff or Blue Coral Carpet Shampoo. Also pick up a bottle of Simple Green. Dilute the simple green with water, and spray alot of it on the stain. Let the stain soak for 5 minutes. Then take the carpet shampoo and spray it over the stain. Take a bucket with a little simple green and hot water and use a scrub brush on the stain. Scrub it well. After you are done, use a steam cleaner or a wet vac to remove the soap and hopefully the stain. Try to get as much of the wetness from the rug up. Let the stain dry....Keep your windows open....

yeah you better clean up that apple juice well. that stuff smells *so* bad when it turns rancid.

civic dude hit it on the head the only thing I wanted to add was you might want to remove the side panels of the car . for the passenger side becaue unless you have a Extractor. its going to be hard to get the water out of the matting underneath the carpet . I had the AC leak thing that so many of us had and when I pulled up the carpet ( the second time) there was water under the matting
