Matt welcome to the board. You will find there are a few peeps here that are detailers, but it is always good to hear someone else's opinions. |
ive acutally been on the board for a while now... but anyway thanks |
yeah i got a question that nobody has answered for me yet! what do u use for your engine dressing spray? exact quantities and names would help me a bunch. |
For engine dressing I use and silicone based tire shine. You can use Black Magic Spray, not the aerosol can. and I also use Clear Gard. |
i thought the tire spray silicone was too thick to use on the engine compartment? do you water it down or anything? |
Nope, i just spray it down, and then I let it dry for ten minutes and wipe off the excess. |
Civic Dude, Try An Ardex Product called Speedee. Its what the professionals use to do tires, interior and engine. Its kinda hard to find. Check your local detail shop and see if you can score some for free. Also check the Honda Dealer. They may use ardex too. Speedee is silicone based but it is pretty thin. Evenly covers everything, it dosent get gloppy. |
On tires I use Blue Blaze which is what we use to use at the porsche dealer I used to work at. Im not sure who makes it but I think its Malco. I actually just started using a product called Summit Dressing on my engine compartment and it looks incredible. I just spray it on and walk away. I also use it on the interior. You have to dilute it with water and it smells like bananas....yum. |
sweet. im going to try that stuff and subscribe to this thread so i dont forget it! |
