Carbon Fiber Hood Restoration

I have an old carbon fiber hood that I'd like to restore but I'm not sure how? Does anyone have any steps they used? Maybe some do's and don'ts? Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks ahead of time!

Re: Carbon Fiber Hood Restoration

How bad is it? Mine has gotten pretty bad and I've tried a myriad of attempts to restore it at home, only to have temporary results. Only thing I haven't tried myself is a DIY clear coat because I don't want to use my hood as an experiment.

Some attempts include:
Wet sand starting with 800 grit all the way to 2000 grit
Rubbing compounds
Polishes and waxes designed for boats with fiberglass bodies
various auto waxes and polishes

I think if I wanna fully restore my hood, I'm gonna suck it up and let the pros take care of it for me. I will admit though, the results looked great, though they only lasted months, at most.

It's pretty bad :( the clear coat has started to peel off on multiple spots all over the hood. I have heard of sanding it down but that you could possibly damage the carbon fiber if you sand to deep?
