wash after clay bar?

I dont usually do this but, should I re-wash the car after using clay bar? and then start polishing with the PC or just go from clay to polish right away?

As long as the lubricant was wiped up ok, i dont see a need to re-wash? i just saw on a detailing website that they mentioned to re-wash after clay...

you should always wash again and then goto polish and wax.

Well, I did my car 2 days ago.

These are the steps I take.

1) Wash
2) Clay
3) Wash
4) Polish
5) Wax

no need to wash after claying (you'll be polishing so it won't matter), just make sure to wipe away any excess qd afterwards.

i didnt wash after i clayed, i dont see a reason to if claying just picks up dirt/contaminents that are stuck on... what is there to wash off???
my before winter detailing goes like this:
-wash (really well, i go over the whole car a couple times)
-clay
-paint cleaner
-polish
-wax
-wax
-wax
and then let the salty snowy winter ruin it all...... knowing my paint will survive is worth it though

The clay leaves a slight residue on the surface. Also most lubricants do as well. You wash it so that the surface is actually clean and free from anything that could cause damage during waxing.
