new rims, additional clear coat?

i just bought a set of new gloss black with polish lip wheels and want to give it extra protection to prevent rusting, corrosion, peeling, etc. the wheels itself already have a gloss black finish and a clear coat but i would like to prevent this happening in the long run. what product do you guys recommend that i can purchase at my local parts store that i can apply to my new wheels? i still have meguairs gold class car wax...can i put some of that on my wheels?

i just put michelin brake dust repellent. It works, my rims are still shiny 4 days later, and less brake dust means they will last longer if you dont have time to clean very often (the dust is corrosive for wheels).

The gold class is pure wax so it will prob last like a week or less on wheels. I would use a good sealant like klasse or wolfgang. I would intitially put a coat on and wait twelve hours and put a second coat on, before installing your rims. Then I would use the sealant on my rims every other time i washed my car. i would also use the brake dust stuff^

^^Ditto.

i used to wax with polymer base type turtle wax and it lasted a long time, but it wouldn't keep brake dust off (it was easy to clean them tho cause of the wax). the brake dust repeller actually keeps the dust off and also makes them slippery so its easy to clean off dirt.

Yo can put it ontop of sealant, no?

i'm actually not sure. i suppose so, cause it says it forms its own barrier. if its safe to use on wheels, i assume it wont eat up what you put it on. all i know is it works great and actually made the rims look even shinier if thats possible. it foams a bit when you first spray, then goes away. I want to try it on the tires too but not sure if it stays on top of the tire shine. cause now my tires look good but there is always dust sticking to the nxt insane shine...

would it be ok to put 2 layers of gold class wax now and later put some sort of sealant? what specific model of the klasses or wolfgang product would u recommend? where can i puchased it at?

also, do i use the wax on the polished lip portion as well?

Yeah it will be fine for awhile but it will wear off pretty quick. Even the sealant wears off pretty quick. Yes on the polished lip. Wolfgang deep gloss sealant.

klass high gloss sealnt glaze.

Both can be used on other surfaces, like putting it on knives or othet metal things you would want to protect.

that klasse high gloss sealant looks very promising.
if i wanted to use it on my car paint, would i want to apply it before or after the meguairs gold class wax?

thanks for the link btw, is that site legit to order from?
