Remove paint from headlights I help removing paint from my headlight. I think it happened when I got into my accident and had to get my front bumper re-painted. The paint is on the corner of my headlight. It doesn't affect light output in any way, but I notice it, and it annoys me. What can I use to remove the paint from my headlight??? I know I can probably use paint thinner, but its really to the edge of the headlight, and I don't want to get paint thinner on my bumper or front fender. TIA, Phu. |
Well you could always take the light out and use paint thinner. But another alternative is to use an abrasive plastic cleaner. I suggest using Meguiars PlastX. Its lightly abrasive and impossible to mess up with, but it breaks down into a polish so you dont do too much. You can usually pick it up at most auto parts stores. Just use that on a terry cloth applicator, to give more bite, and go until you get the results you want. Its also a great all around clear plastic cleaner and restorer. |
