cleaning stock seat covers

i just ordered a new rear seat cushion since the previous car owner spilled some nasty stuff on it and it smells horrible, anyways i was wondering if it is possible to take the seat cover off and wash it anyway, washing machine, house etc. please help. thanks

never even planned to remove the seat liner before, the most i had to do was hit it with a steam cleaner, brush it up with oxi-clean, and then vaccum it all out.

Sure its possible, but like ojay said, you have other options too that should work just as well. Just remember that taking the seat cover off will go VERY easily, but putting it back on is another story. If you wash it make sure you let it air dry, the fabric will shrink and you wont be able to get it on or it wont look good if you machine dry it. Gentle cycle, cold water. But i suggest the same method that ojay mentioned.

yeah and you might have a bigger problem. there is foam under the seat cover which probaly also has absorbed the stain, replacing the seat cover without addressing the foam wouldnt do to much, you can either get the foam replaced of look around here and ebay, ppl sell the rears when they do custom interiors for not that much
