Purple Power
 

Okay, I'm a bit lsot here, I've never done this before and I don't know anything about being in a forum. Well, whatever. I was wondering if anyone knows what purple power can do to glass. I had this horrible white film on my windshield (outside) so I went ot the auto parts store and the guy there, used pirple power, but when I read the bottle, it said not to use on glass. Now I'm nervous that my winshield will be messed up...The good news is that I can actually see out of it now. Let me know if anyone knows anything about this.

The one he used was purple power cleaner/degreaser and on the bottle it says not to use on glass. can it damage my windshield?

If it hasn't by now then it wont at all.

if it is a degreaser than it might ruin the tint and oils on your windshield.

however, if the oils were thick enough to merit using a degreaser, then it might just be enough to get rid of it.

lets just hope that guy didn't pick the wrong bottle...

Thanks. I suppose if it were going to ruin it, it would have by now. i don't have tinted windows so I'm not worried about that. I have another silly question, how often should I replace my wipers?

Depends on use...I'd say every 3-4 months for the avg.

You can clay bar the windows if your trying to get crap off of them. And with the wipers, it depends on how often you use them, sometimes not using them is harder on them because the rubber dries out, and if you think you need it. If you use them on an icy windshield, you pretty well need to get new ones.

the moment it starts squeeking/after a lot of snow/salt/anything that could get caught on the wiper blades.

you get a free set of blades if you go to the stealership for oil changes, so I suggest every time you change your oil (if you don't go to the stealership).

yeah dont use degreaser on your windows...if you windows are that bad you can try a mixture of 1/2 rubbing alcohol and 1/2 water..that will take care of.and when it comes to chemicals of any kind..be it to clean you car or to maintain it, always follow the manufacturer directions:tup:
