get spots off the black rubber molding I think they're water spots... is mineral oil the best way to go? or just straight up armor all? (I.E. the molding around the sunroof, the windows...) |
i use turtle wax stuff like armorall and it works for a bit but then rain washes it off and it becomes dirty again. |
armorall will make it look better but wont last at all. you need a specific trim detailer. however, without replacing it, nothing will be permanent. Ive heard of people using belt dressing on weatherstripping to keep it soft and that also makes it look better. But i would hesitate to use that. |
ya belt dressing is very sticky. |
Yeah i know, but i know this guy that uses it on his truck. Its a 72 chevy, and it looks great, and the original stripping is soft. But i would imagine its a b**** to mess with. |
Power steering fluid is awesome for cleaning rubber. Use it sparingly and be sure to wipe it off thoroughly. |
i'd be hesitant to use power steering fluid as well. you need trim restorer, either by poorboy's or mother's. |
if your talking about the plastic around the windows and the front windshield, You should just wax them. be sure not to cake it on because it will get all in the cracks. |
Theres this stuff my friend uses... called black something.. I'm not sure of the name but if someone posted it I would recognize it, it has black i the title LOL |
Power steering fluid will ruin your paint if you get it on there. Also, if you wax it you will most likely have some white residue on the trim. I think Smuggler is talking about Back to Black by Mothers. It works great, but doesnt last at all. |
Oh yeah thats what it was good call!! lol we only use it for shows |
